Challia Bull's character development. At first, most thought it was just a tease from the original Gundam. As time went on, however, it began to become apparent that he was an important character in Gquck.
In my opinion, Challia is the best character in this series. Powerful, intelligent and cunning. At the same time, he has a clear goal. Many derided it as being the pursuit of Char. But fortunately it turned out not to be the case.
I hope to see him in Gundam again someday.

Machu & Shuji: Completely one-side relationship that's sidelined half the show. Guy loves someone else. Completely forced kiss and "I love you."

The most dogshit and sauceless het in Gundam in over a decade gets a kiss and a direct confession simply because it's het.

Meanwhile, one of the best sapphic relationships in anime has to beat around the bush quite a bit with the staff forced to get creative just to make it textual canon.

Early on, there was an animator who worked on the OP and final few? episodes and hyped the ship up with what they knew about it. Their art was kind of jank and ShuuMachu wasn't looking like a proper romance so people ended up ignoring them later on, but it's clear now that they were referring to that kiss.

I think the entire plot that they wanted to write was okay. But again, a lot of things to do, so little time. At least they kept things interesting and escalating, so that was interesting, but yeah...the fast pace kind of dulls the emotional payoff in the end.
I felt nothing when Shuji replied Machu's feelings back. It would have been NICE to see Shuji showing any kind of struggle between what he was doing as a time Janny and Machu's and Nyaan's affections, but no, they just "stuff him in the basement" until the plot needs him to do something again.
And for my opinion if G-witch is worse or better than Gquuuux? I think they are a bit to different for me to make a proper judgement.
What I will point out is that my belief why G-witch is perceived as worse, and is, from myself, a reason I think it was a 7/10 being generous, was because the expectations after the first cour were raised too high, alongside the stakes. I was expecting things to go a bit Sci-fi and psychological, a la Evangelion.

Instead, we got the second cour which was a jumbled, disconnected mess that took time from the other many subplots. And the plot had a tendency to pick the most safe route. By the last 3 episodes I was convinced nobody of importance was going to die anyways...so no stakes.

I feel like this series was made by someone who has total contempt for gundam as a mecha anime per se.
machu is the least "gundam pilot" of any gundam pilot protagonist in the series history, bar none. 0083 Stardust Memory and 08th MS Team were short too, but their protagonists and main gundams got to do shit.
I was getting constant blue balls from this series. every "fight" lasted like 30 seconds, then was over. Machu pilots the GQX (in the sense of "attacks an adversary", not just floats around in the background) a grand total of 4 times in the series.
the final fight against Shuji felt incredibly grudging, like Tsurumaki didn't want to have a final mecha battle at all but got armtwisted into it by contractual obligation. the actual mobile-suit-vs-mobile-suit portion of this so-called climactic fight is *40 seconds*. That's it, that's all. After that the white gundam grows to giant size and it becomes all symbolism rather than a battle from a gundam series.
