Just want to bring visibility to a very long-running fanfic called “To The Stars”. it’s a Meguca (and very yuri) take on humanity actually entering the galactic community Kyubei talked about, except they find themselves at war with a far more advanced alien race. All of the girls survive in this timeline, but Madoka still ends up becoming Madokami and ending the Witch system. Even if you’re if you’re not into yuri it’s worth reading.
