I've been thinking about how Naruto Shippuden sort of aligns with that Ergo Proxy, Death Note, Lain, 2deep 2edgy vibes.

As an oldfag, I had watched my fair share of anime and I am still here for the gems like Akiba Maid War, Akayuku or Apocalypse Hotel. I dont deny that some CGDCT are good, but that is not the apex of anime by any metric, shape or form. I watch anime for my own amusement, entertainment and choice. I am beyond excuses or justifications for anime, I watch it because I enjoy it, I dont need anyone's seal of approval or social validation, I decide my own path.
What keeps me enduring every season's waves of shit and slop? The hope that I will get shows like the ones I mentioned earlier and the fact that in my backlog are surely more gems to be discovered.

finished watching ergo proxy for the first time yesterday.
liked the story for the most part, but the most enjoyable thing was definitely just seeing pino fucking around. and i really liked the "married couple" episode.
the opening is very good, too.
taking it seriously was a bit hard though. especially when the guy looks into the camera and says "I'm Ergo Proxy", or when Daedalus is acting all edgy and Raul lashes out on him and throws him to the ground. funniest shit.
