Comedy adventure SoL:
Machu goes on adventures with Challia and Char to solve political intrigues. Nyaan and Lalah mostly hang around in the background and cook food for when they come back. Every episode has a new recipe for the audience.
Gquxamuro gets a miniature mechanical body made so they can have him as a snarky robotic sidekick.
Machu stumbles upon random UC characters every now and then who are now living a peaceful life and causes some benevolent chaos.
Some secret mission has her sneaking back into Side 6 with a fake ID and a disguise, but she's found by her classmates. She has to take them all with her with the Gundam to earth for secrecy and then Machu has a harem of cute girls swooning over her for a while until they can go home.
Mom can come visit her on earth on vacation. Nyaan is happy for Machu but also sad, so Machu introduces her to her parents. Cue Nyaan being a much more polite and responsible daughter and Machu's mom takes a liking to her and starts pampering her more than Machu.

firstly she's got that overcompensation where she wants to grow up and be taken seriously as an adult ASAP because she associates youth with weakness and foolishness. A grown up relationship with anyone would feed that fantasy.
Secondly, she is open to the idea of a sexually charged rivalry. When she teases Shinji, she doesn't see it as her making him feel bad on purpose, she sees it as an invitation to verbally spar, to get a back and forth going that establishes them as equals. She wants to be this Red Baron type ace pilot and to only associate with peerage like that.
These combine into a worst case scenario for her where Shinji, rather than manning up, becomes more and more childish (in her eyes) just giving up and refusing to engage with her when she tries to poke at him, while also outperforming her as a pilot.
If he'd done the typical shonen protag thing and become someone who could push back and meet her in the middle while also being someone she could rely upon in battle without making her feel unwanted or unneeded, she would have genuinely fallen head over heels for him.
But he's just not that kind of boy. and she's not the kind of person that can be that kind of influence on him. So in the end their feels were just childhood crushes that go nowhere

Challia was talking about Machu feeling no regrets and suffering for her own freedom like a Newtype should in the final scene lol. He deals a fatal blow to Deux rather than disabling her like Machu, even if it had been easy for him with how outmatched she was, because either:

a) he disagreed with her
b) thought she was too far gone (a common theme in anime concerning damaged people)
c) he's prejudiced towards artificial newtypes (again, a common sentiment among Zeon pilots)

If he agreed with her, he wouldn't have killed her, and had a longer dialogue with her (like he did with Amuro or Xavier), maybe even try to recruit/teach her. It seemed to me that what she said actually pissed him off with how quick he went for the kill.
