The actual state of the industry reminds me of that XKCD panel that says
>There is 14 competeng standards>This situation is shit, we need to make a new standard that covers all use cases>There is now 15 competing standardsIn the anime industry it would be like
>There are 14 competing anime studios>This situation is shit, we need to make a studio that doesnt treat us like slaves and strives for quality>There are now 15 competing anime studiosBut the problem, is not that there are a bunch of anime studios, it runs deeper than that.
I am not an anime industry expert with cunning insights from insiders leaks, but the industry right now its in a sorry state where the studios are cannibalizing each other.
yeah, we get more anime than ever, but at what cost? Most anime these days have hentai levels if QUALITY, there are stories that you cant help to wonder "how the fuck did this got greenlighted?" or the almost carbon copy stories that flooding the industry because its the flavor of the year, and then we get all the studios wanting to grab one of those 90% identical stories to rushingly release it before the fad gets over, before the horse gets beaten beyond anything recognizable.
