I'm not sure fandom even really exists anymore. Not real ones anyways. Oh people will ride the wave. There will be hype. Okay you've freed the slaves. Now what? The economy has been altered drastically over night. This will lead to a massive increase in prices across the board. Nobody can afford shit anymore because the new prices. Non slave industry isn't going to increase wages because their own income isn't going to increase. Further where are the slaves going now? Do they have land of their own? Do they know how to interact with greater society? Who is going to look after them? You're basically setting domesticated animals into the wild with no way to guarantee their survival.
