For the past two batches Togashi has started posting in May. I think he comes back next year because he hasn’t said shit on Twitter since the end of the batch.

Yea he might be working, but he could’ve stopped any day. Togashi is drift leg the type to have periods of “work from wake up to night” and “doing fuck all”, especially with his injury. Don’t be shocked if he got exhausted 2 months ago, started playing games, and hasn’t drawn since.

The plot has become very complicated now, so Togashi is drawing inspiration from Bungee World theorists and fanfiction. Just a couple more Youtube videos/headcanons and he will be ready to continue, please understand

I like how people are still holding hope for this series even though anyone with a functioning brain knows its chalked the fuck up. I love HXH still but its time to just let it go guys or just continue fiddling your thumbs for another year of like 7 chapters into another long hiatus.

He definitely has an outline for the current arc.
I'm sure theres a lot of moving parts to put together within that that slows it down.

But I'm pretty confident, even if he died tomorrow, we have to get through the arc, even sloppily.

Same way people have been interested in ASOIAF, or other hiatus riddled manga like Vagabond.
Personally I’m not one of these people who’s a doomed. But I’ve learned to ignore the existence of Hunter outside of when Togashi comes back. Am I as excited as I was in 2017? NO. Not because I think the quality is worse, but with every year without a chapter my hope of seeing the resolution dwindles

Because its really good.

It's a similar problem to Song of Ice and Fire.
They're just genuinely good writers, and that compels them to flesh out everything in smart ways and the complexity fractalizes.

HxH is really cool because characters are extremely strategic and rational with how they exploit supernatural abilities.

Togashi’s ideal 3 kings arc would’ve probably been like this arc. A giant political intrigue, except in the demon world instead of adventure to the dark continent.

Shit I love Togashi’s writing, but my favorite thing about him is that he simply creates entertaining scenarios. I’d still love the succession war even if the arc was more fightfagish just because I love the scenario
>a mini society full of super powered people who are journeying to the new world
There’s little manga with as exciting a setup as this arc

Camilla’s attack on Benjamin was calculated. She had a bit of bad luck due to the exact mechanics of Musse’s ability, but overall it was a net positive for her with very little drawback. Musse immediately recognized her ability as a counter-type anyway, practically any of Benjamin’s guards would have realized the same thing, it’s just a matter of whether they’d attack, and that’s a personality problem. She scored a free kill and got off practically scotfree, especially since Benjamin is dying, and to get to her, they’d have to go through a whole room of Nen users.

Some people are holding out for another CA-esque psychological drama, but it's simply not gonna happen. That type of content has never been Togashi's priority; you can basically think of the Palace Invasion as lightning in a bottle. He prefers to just come up with entertaining life or death thriller scenarios and (often indirect) battles. Eerily similar to FKMT, where he peaked writing drama but he prefers not to 90% of the time.

I honestly disagree anon. Not that Togashi doesn’t prioritize entertaining life or death thriller scenarios, but that we won’t get another CA esque drama.
Kurapika-Chrollo-Hisoka-Tserriendich dynamics and resolution offer as much if not more potential emotional poignancy than Gon-Killua-Mereum-Netero and the like in the CA arc.
Not to mention all the sociopolitical elements of the SW could match the societal commentary of the CA arc

I’m a newbie. Why are Hunter threads so dead? Silent majority alone and DC speculation should be able to sustain discussion until Togashi comes back. But threads died pretty quickly post batch.

Most people don’t really seem to care about the DC. It’s doubtful Togashi ever even gets to it, and him finishing the arc seems like an utter pipe dream. People have had like 7 years+ to think and discuss about Silent Majority. There’s only so much to say, and their presence in the manga is essentially 0 at this point, so most don’t find that worth thinking about unless there’s a new hint. Last batch in general didn’t feel that conducive to speculation, besides the first, which went kinda crazy. We got a fair amount of answers, but the new questions we got feel too vague to really say anything about.

How deep do you guys expect the lore of this arc to go? I’ve seen theories like
>sarasas killers are from Kakin
>Beyond helped Nasubi in his succession war
>Nasubi is actually the first king of Kakin or wants to use his kids
>Sheila will be involved in the arc
And many more

Togashi seems to go very minimal on lore and flashbacks. Even in the CA arc we barely got anything on the history of Gyros nation, we only got tidbits of greed islands creation proccess, we didn’t even see the other floor masters in heavens arena.
How minimal can Togashi go in an ancient nen war?

Well on my end, I mostly just posted it because it’s an unexplained moment. You question why she’s reaching out to the mirror.

I think some years back I had some considerations as to her ability seemingly forcing her to stay in Zetsu to activate it, which lowers her presence, and the fact she seems obsessed with fashion, but I didn’t have much else to say, and I still don’t (regarding that, at least)

Sure he is.

HxH is some of most innovative storytelling I can think of.
An alien invasion of chimeric ants that accidentally consume flesh and become humanoid but that also becomes a weakness.
A fake isekai that climaxes in a dodgeball game.
Political election thriller where the villain's motive is to make the election last forever.
