I'm sure SJ could afford it, it would balance out the workload. This way Oda could've focused on the story while his minions copy his style and maybe even improve upon it

Just a different economy. There are some duos that do the division of work like that. One thing is when you come up with a work you own the rights to it. When you work in America you work on someone's else's property. You could publish your own original work but unless you publish online it's expensive to do. Colour costs a lot more money to print and manga is printed on very cheap paper so it's cheap to buy.

And he always goes to concerts, plays, events, meets mangaka, actors and anime crew for parties. It's literally creating something from nothing. That process of creation, bringing to life what lives in your head, can give you an addictive high. It's hard to explain.

Now I might not be as much of an autistic machine like Oda is, but I would be a hell of a lot less happy in my life if I didn't have drawing. I've drawn for hours daily for years now. I love it. I get antsy if I go on a holiday without bringing any drawing materials with me.
