It's literally creating something from nothing. That process of creation, bringing to life what lives in your head, can give you an addictive high. It's hard to explain.
Now I might not be as much of an autistic machine like Oda is, but I would be a hell of a lot less happy in my life if I didn't have drawing. I've drawn for hours daily for years now. I love it. I get antsy if I go on a holiday without bringing any drawing materials with me.
