Honestly, Loli's arc was my favourite of the female top 10 hero cast by far. It was paced well enough that I understood and enjoyed her characterization, while simultaneously enjoying the development regarding the Fear value. I felt like the two arcs prior couldn't find the right balance and were weirdly rushed. Hopefully that was just a minor hiccup and we'll only get good arcs from this point on.

It just feels like each thing is directed by a different person.its so strange how the quality just drops for certain stories. I don't think it's the quality goes down it's that every single episode you're introduced to a new plot that doesn't get resolved or a new character that has no other bearing except for one or two episodes. I think that's what really killed it. I think if they were to do just 48 episodes to begin with and do like a narrative while also doing all of the back stories it would be a lot better than just simply: here's a character. here's a character. here's character. Like a good example would be Queen. Like you have all this buildup and then clean and Scion just roll up next to this monster for it to not be addressed at any point in loli's episode.

2 episodes were enough on Queen they just needed to focus on building a proper rivalry with another hero by making the final fight shorter. Either rewrite Bowa completely or swap her out with another character. It's simply unacceptable that the deuteragonist of the arc is someone the main character isn't the least bit interested in, attached to, or influenced by. Writing is all about character synergy and Queen remained inert material the whole show while Bowa was a waste of everyone's time, pretty much raining down a waterproof coat calling Queen. Which is ok for a monster of the week series since it allows the audience to focus on a character who isn't the main cast but as an origin story and the only opportunity for Queen to appeal herself it's extremely weak.

My theory is that there were two contacts with aliens. One was related to Zero, the other was your aforementioned Big Johnny discovery.

Zero made contact with a cult that had him corrupted via concentrated Fear particles. Said cult was also related to aliens. Fear in this era didn't spread person-to-person, but did an immeasurable concentrated amount of damage to the world via the Dawnfall Incident. E-soul learned of this, and somehow was able to stop this concentrated Fear somehow, earning him the title of the first X. Only the big hero organizations learned the nature of some alien material corrupting Zero. But it wasn't until Queen's arc that they determined it was Fear. And, Glimmer Labs was the first leak of such info to the public. Glimmer was initially squashed at every opportunity on purpose in order to stifle the existence of aliens, but they eventually gave in so the lab can study and develop measures against Fear.

Maybe Ghostblade was sent in to take down the plane, because the previous contact with aliens created Zero/Dawnfall Incident. And Ghostblade/MG/Hero Organizations didn't want a second Dawnfall Incident, so they attempted to prevent it via killing the alien through a plane crash.

Of course, that didn't work, but somehow Little Johnny was able to convince them there's multiple types of aliens, some of which are friendly like Big Johnny. And now, they trust Big Johnny because he has the technology to contain Fear particles.

Meanwhile, Liu Zhen is spreading the original doctrine that Zero's cult created. Perhaps both were part of the same Spotlight Organization, but Liu Zhen decided to go about it slightly differently by spreading a weak version of Fear initially, then over time amplifying it. However, even if he amplifies it, it's still weaker than Zero's concentrated Fear.

I don't think we need the show to further tell us how these impressive feats got her to the top 10 spot, nor do I need the show to tell me how her cute pink mecha suit allowed her to still be adorable while being taken seriously. It felt like a complete character arc that explained how her suit worked and showed a preview of Ghostblade who is in the next arc, not an arc hijacked by lore like Queen's.

I personally see the jets inside the bat helping her be on the offensive at close range without getting hit. It also seemed like his superpowered mode emitted a glow from his body. When hit in the abdomen initially, he was in the same place, and said glow remained. When the jets were working even more harshly, only then was she able to swing him away, with his body glow disappearing, to his defeat. If that was a regular bat, he would've still had the glow to protect him from falling and bleeding profusely. Thus, the glow makes me think of it as some sort of defense that normal humans can't do damage to him. So, her alien tech bat provided a timely and powerful swing to help negate that. They needed this alien technology to help overpower him, because nobody in that room likely had the amount of trust value to overpower him the traditional way.

He had a rise, fall and comeback that was all well earned. Heros definitely existed by 5BC as stated in the image that talks about it in the first place. However, the commission was only around by 1AC, likely due to the Dawnfall Incident. I'm not sure if superheros were around prior to 5BC, but it was known by then the connection that trust value creates superheros and super geniuses. Your first point about OG superheros is absolutely correct.

He did purge himself for a bit when he stopped being Nice, but went back to relying on the Trust value after he became the Commoner. So if your theory holds water, then it's unfortunately impossible to truly rid of the virus, just change its shape a bit.

Not just Lin Ling, but also old E-soul had it, as seen in his trailer. He had a precognition of himself getting stabbed in the neck by Yang Cheng. He fought with the precognition version of Yang, but gave up when it was the real deal. I wonder if there's a deeper reason for him not avoiding his death beyond being depressed and uncaring of his status. From the trailer, it sounded like he knew he can't go against fate or they'll face grave consequences or something.

The budget of Queen and Loli definitely increased compared to Cyan's episodes, but Nice and E-Soul had a lot more interesting animation playing out, and their overall stories had more of a hook to them, you WANT to see what happens next and how it connects. Cyan's is by far the weakest in terms of connection, and they wasted a bunch of time from Queen's episodes on Cyan too. I hope Ghostblade is better.

That's a wildly unrelatable message so it's no surprise it didn't land with anyone. Queen's attitude, privilege and lack of any real personality made her a total dud as a character. She couldn't carry an arc. Insane how people complain about Cyan being passive when Cyan goes through actual hardships and shows actual emotion while making actual decisions and desiring actual freedom. What avoht Queen? A rich powerful prodigy girl who already has everything and is considered #2 at a record age. Her hardship? Not being #1 instead. Holy shit, how horrible! And no, a scene where Queen goes OMG A HECKIN PUPPER is not a replacement for a personality.

Being a cold bitch who gives no importance to those around her and growing to care is a personality, just not one you like. The message is that your failures don't define you, Queen only really had her achievements, but when she failed she realized she had Cyan, who she moved to help when her father told of her situation. She managed to reach out to Bowa despite her intent to kill her. Despite her reputation falling and her falling off of the spotlight she decided to heed Cyan's words and leave the agency's reputation to her friends while she rested. Her talents were put to save others, not every hero needs to be relatable. Maybe what Queen really needed was another episode to her after the first and second episodes to show this change of character in more depth, what she lacks right now is a villain.
