Studio TRIGGER animator Sushio confronted by Japanese fans after endorsing an openly racist far-right politician
>In a series of now deleted X posts, Sushio stated that his favorite candidate for the upcoming July elections in Japan was Uryu Hirano, a non-affiliated politician currently campaigning for a seat in the House of Councillors. Imaishi and Yoshinari are harder to peg and probably somewhat apolitical (like most otaku from that gen). Imaishi's love for chaos, violence and anarchy maybe isn't just dressing, he definitely doesn't have authoritarian sympathies. Yoshinari made BNA, left the writing duties and fleshing out of story/concepts to Nakashima so while not entirely his, there is a story of a diverse set of minorites enduring oppression, and overcoming their differences to form a heterogeneous harmonious society away from human society, make of that what you will.
