It doesn't take a lot of time out of people's week to check out a 13 page chapter every couple Tuesdays. If someone wants to comment on their disdain of the current story let 'em. It's all in hopes that Fatjicocksuck at least finishes this shit somewhat decently instead of the haphazard car-pile it's been so far. For me, every chapter release for like the last year of CSM has felt like having to sit through the release of AOT 139 month after month after month. There's some sparkly bits that shine here and there, but wow what a monstrous half-baked turd. Just take it out back and fucking crucify it along with fujimoto. Fire Punch and CSM1 being 80-90+ish chapters is probably his sweet spot. His ongoing story building experience is just leaving something to be desired and it's plain as fucking day to most people. and the action art is objectively worse. you've had years to find one assistant to make your shit look comparable to the action shots in CSM1. I hope fujimoto gets shit for it but i know he's surrounded by ass sniffers.

It’s likely THIS finally confirms the separation theory (something that a lot of us came to when we saw the promotional image for P2, since the promotional image for P1 foreshadowed a major moment in P1 too).
Asa and Yoru will become separate entities essentially, no longer able to switch at will and Yoru will probably have to posses a new body.
That being said, she got a spiral spear right through the forehead, if she isn’t something like a fiend at least, then yeah she is dead dead.
As it stands now even if she’s a fiend she’s going to be dead until Denji feeds her some blood because that’s a fatal blow (though not so horrific she couldn’t regenerate).

No way they are dead yet and that unceremoniously. There has been foreshadowing that their consciousnesses would be separated so that is likely what is going to happen here. On top of that, all signs for a while have pointed to them being a fiend, which can regenerate from fatal blows that aren’t too severe. Control dealt with humans for ages, and her nature is to manipulate.
Yoru has no understanding of human customs and her nature is impulsive and violent.
It's very apparent that Fujimoto wanted to Yoru's personality to be a contrast to Makima, not a copy of it.
Her "manipulation" is limited to whatever she picked up from observing Asa over a few months.
It worked to some degree on two teenagers but even then, they pretty much just go along with her stupidity because they have no better alternatives.
Yoru is what she says she is, someone who's pretty much an open book and operates on instinct.
Her "grand evil plan" probably consisted of piling up tons of weapons and wrecking humans in order to become more feared.
It wasn't something well-thought out at all.

Hybrids have their own deal going on, Devils are obviously Devils, and Fiends are Devils inhabiting human corpses. With Fiends, their healing is basically them using their powers to repair the corpse.

It's not too surprising.
Yoru was extremely reluctant to turn her children into weapons, and only did it when she was about to die. Early series Yoru tried to weaponize Denji immediately, but she keeps making excuses now like "I'll have some fun with him first" or "if he can defeat Death I won't need to".
Yoru's mostly relied on Asa's guilt to create weapons because on reality Yoru is as afraid of losing things she cares about as anyone.
It's the guilt that makes a strong weapon and that hypothetical guilt for Denji is so strong that she can't do it.

Tad bit disappointed at the lack of Asa agency again, but a very interesting chapter, 8/10.
The central point, aluded by the chapter's name "Changed my mind", where Yoru when confronted with a similar situation (facing an overwhelming opponent) chooses to not sacrifice Denji, contrary to her entire goal in Part 2. But it also aludes to the literal "change in her mind" as she is impaled by a spear right after making this decision.
Asa and Yoru, with their theming of "War within" have never before agreed meaningfully on anything and this contrast between the two have kept them alive, sort to speak. But now it seems that Yoru "lost", she conceded to not wishing to turn Denji into a weapon, giving up on the opportunity for power, contrasting her sacrifice of her children and aligning her with Asa's desire, this is the death of the powerhungry destructive war devil in a symbolic sense and right after making this decision Yoru is literally killed.

I'm curious what this all means for the narrative, it seems that we're walking in the direction of "fusion" as both Asa and Yoru became one right before their fatal injury, this is also aluded by Asa's own name. I'm just wondering if this is any good for Asa and if she'll remain that way.

To add, the spear seemingly hit dead center in Asa's skull. This would physically separate the two of them, but to separate them now that they agreed...would Yoru revert to her evil self? would Asa change significantly as well?
My hunch is that it's one of three things:

Seems a little odd for Pochita to come out, what Makima did and Nayuta's death had way more significance than just "a person I liked died" to trigger them.
Makima killed Power, rubbed Aki's death in Denji's face and revealed his utmost hidden traumatic memory to him.
Nayuta was effectivelly Denji's daughter whom he lived with for around a year and he felt personally responsible for her death as a guardian.

The end of Aquarium is actually littered with death flags for Denji, the biggest one being the whole "Saying Goodbye" chapter. But I don't know, Fujimoto is seemingly too fond of Denji, his death also goes against general themes of the manga such as "endless persitence in the face of adversity" which seems to be the metaphorical reasoning behind Pochita's regeneration ability, same applies to Asa.
