samuRAT will DIE in 48 hours
Ruri movie by Pixar when
oh wait...
>>280381775SamuGOD will DIE fighting El Hermano in like twelve chapters.
Uh oh. This looks like a bad omen.
I know most people on /a/ donโt put stock in superstitions, but I donโt knowโฆ
Watching that stray cat casually take a dump on the pile of Deku merch at the Jump Festa booth and then apathetically walk away disgusted isโฆ interesting, to say the least.
Itโs almost as if God Himself was repulsed and infuriated by this travesty (which makes sense, since Deku is basically the reddit Jesus of capeshit shonen), so He sent a sign of His divine disapproval via nature.
This doesnโt bode well for HeroAcaโs next season. Personally, it doesnโt matter, because I already resolved not to support this overhyped corpse on principle.
I donโt even consider myself a colossal Kagurabachi fanboy, but you can easily tell Chihiroโs mangaka actually gives a damn about telling a raw, unfiltered story, forging his own legend instead of milking tired tropes until the ink runs dry.
Iโm standing with the Kagurabachi enjoyers and refusing to hand Horikoshiโs committee-driven, merch-chasing zombie any more of my attention.
Itโs painfully obvious HeroAcaโs editors donโt respect shonen or its spirit anymore unless they can water it down for Funko sales, ship wars, and endless spin-offs.
Stay mad, Dekucucks. The blade never lies.

Why does the Kaedegami author skip full fight scenes and only show the final strike? Is it a deliberate choice to avoid detailed battles? Are they hoping an anime adaptation will flesh out the action? Thatโd be a pretty bold move if true.

>>280391104J+ views were debunked by Ichinose, you remember Ichinose clearing Ruri's 1m+ views within a day right? Ichinose went on to sell less than half of what Ruri did.
Sales obviously don't mean anything since TR fujos and Narutofags did not come back for the author's next series.
M+ views don't mean anything either unless you believe foreigners were solely responsible for making KGB a success.
Likes on twitter are ultimately the best indicator because cult-like following can guarantee the author's next series doesn't fail, even if it's far inferior like Ichi compared to Iruma.
>>280391138At least try to make it sound believable

Scouring, found some cool Nip Kagurabachi theories (keep in mind not all of these are actually serious)
>One theory is that the loli contractor got married and retired from swordsmanship, but lost her family in the war and returned to swordsmanship. Another theory is that she used magic to restore her body to the shape she had in her prime, which is why she became a loli.
>The mark of the Hishaku represents the number "8," and their goal is to eventually produce the eighth enchanted sword.
>America is already dead
>The origin of the word "Yura" is "Furube Yurayura" and it is the surviving people of the small country. The purpose is to revive everyone in the small country using the Shinuchi. The Shinuchi are equivalent to the three sacred treasures.
>The theory that Yura is a puppet and the real leader of Bisho is Uncle Matsu
>Shiba-san has a split personality, and his other personality is a traitor. When he's his other personality, he likes patterned shirts.
>The theory that Kensei is Hiyuki's father. The idea that individuals shouldn't have great power makes sense if her father is Kensei.
>There is a theory that Hiruhiko is an abandoned child of the royal family. His original source is Hiruko. If that's the case, then Zamura might also be an illegitimate child of someone based on his original source.

>Hishaku means ladle. >Ladle is used to wash hands (and then mouth) before praying at the shrine in the Buddhist temples. >By washing hands you are cleansing them. >First you wash left hand, then right hand. Order is important. Left hand is considered to be the sacred one in Japan. >By putting the mark on right or left hand Hishaku sort of reject or deny cleansing ritual. >All Hishaku besides Hatshaku so far have right hands marked. Only Hatshaku has the left one. >When Hatshaku appeared at the temple before Samura we have seen the tree covering Buddha statue. And Hatshaku saying "Oops, talking about bad karma".I think with Hishaku Hokazono wants to depict the conflict between Buddhism (that came after Shintoism) and Shintoism, which was in Japan first.
Sort of religious New vs Old. New (Buddhism) is bad, old (Shintoism) is good.
Also Hatshaku is probably actually the leader of Hishaku, in a sense that he is not the one who calls the shots (that's on Yura), but the one who gives the organization purpose and means to exist. It also aligns well with his mentor attitude either through "School them properly", or through him being sort of senior companion to Yura.

>>280380894>Show me where it is the number 1 movie in Japan.Nah, I don't have to show you anything because I never said Frozen had to be #1 to prove anything. What matters is that Frozen 2 made ยฅ13.5B in Japan in a normal, competitive market, without a Covid vacuum. That's more than One Piece Film: Red. More than Jujutsu Kaisen 0. More than Suzume. And nearly 3x what Swordsmith Village did globally.
You're now moving the goalpost from "C-Covid boost isn't real!!" to "W-Well Frozen wasn't #1 that year!" Bro, that's not the point. Frozen 2 didn't need a freak box office environment to clean up.
>A massive franchise all the same. Didnt get the covid boost.Exactly. Because it didn't release at the perfect storm moment like Mugen Train did. That's my point. Star Wars dropped in Japan when competition existed, when movie schedules were full, and when audiences were split across genres. Mugen Train? Dropped in a cultural vacuum. No Marvel, no DC, no Pixar, no blockbusters, nothing. It was the entire market. You're helping prove the core thesis: Mugen Train was an anomaly made possible by external factors. Not something the next movie can replicate in a crowded year like 2025.
>Doraemon didn't get the Covid boostYou mean the Doraemon movie that was literally delayed to 2021 because of Covid, released when audiences were still skittish and theaters had strict seating caps? Yeah, no shit it didn't get a "Covid boost." Mugen Train timed it perfectly right after restrictions eased but before any Hollywood tentpoles returned. That's why it exploded. Nobody else managed that window.

>>280393296>Just wanted to throw in two anime movies for comparison since Demon Slayer is an anime movie.Bad comparison. Youโre picking critically acclaimed or niche anime films, neither of which were even aiming for blockbuster status. One was an arthouse drama by KyoAni (Violet Evergarden), the other a franchise that nuked itself with a garbage season (The Promised Neverland). You're trying to frame Mugen Train as "standard anime success" when it was a complete freak case, and those two movies are absolutely irrelevant to that point.
>Oscars arent relevant to the convo.Says the guy who's trying to argue box office patterns using Birds of Prey. You brought up Parasite and I showed you that its success came from critical buzz and awards traction, not pandemic timing. That's relevant because Infinity Castle has none of that.
>Are you seriously going to sit there and act like Pokemon isnt a massive franchise? It is massive, no doubt about that. And guess what? Its movies still underperform in theaters. Why? Because longevity doesn't guarantee turnout. People don't show up in droves just because your IP is famous. See: Transformers, The Flash, Fantastic Beasts (with Harry Potter clout). This kills your argument that "Demon Slayer is huge so it'll win." Pokemon is bigger. Doraemon is older. Star Wars is more global. They all struggle when the conditions aren't perfect. So why are you pretending Demon Slayer is somehow immune?
>It bombed because it sucks.Exactly. And Infinity Castle might suffer for the same reason if the content isn't strong and the conditions aren't in its favor. It doesn't matter how famous the franchise is. You're finally catching on to the point: content + context = box office.
(2/2)
Why does pokemon and kimetsu always invite seethe from its inferiors?
>>280393352>because he's a greedy jew who thinks it'd harm the merchMost of the new characters he made are non marketable.
Like would anyone miss the scabbards if they died? Kinemon and Momonosuke have been with the straw hat crew for years and yet they're still vastly unpopular
>>280393380Yeah it's not even the strawhats, he's afraid to kill even the most irrelevant characters
>>280393365Not at all. Pokemon rightfully invites seethe because GameFreak hasn't made a single good game since Gen 5 (B2W2 is the last truly good Pokemon game) and it's literally one of the biggest IPs in the world, it makes more money than Star Wars, etc.
Demon Slayer isn't anywhere near on Pokemon's level, not even a quarter of its full power back when Pokemania ruled the world. It's a niche IP in comparison that had its time under the sun for a year with a very loud and deluded fanbase and an equally deluded distributor (Sony/Aniplex) who are coasting off of a freak accident 5 years ago.
>>280393352The problem with Oda is that he also refuses to kill even the most pointless of characters.

>>280393420>who are coasting off of a freak accident 5 years ago.Meanwhile, it still has perfectly good ratings, far better than anything in its block and basically losing only to fucking sazae and airing a recap+an episode on cinemas nets them enough funding for several seasons.
I hope you keep seething about it, forever.
>>280393469It even beats sazae in DVR (since nobody records sazae) itls iterally the most watched anime with 14-24 million views. as well as tops streaming charts. No anime hits that on TV let alone streaming charts.
And he's been seething at it for an entire week 12 hours a day, yet somehow its forgotten and not talked about kek.
And then, all of a sudden, everything about Sakamoto and the shitposting against every other series just vanished in thin air.
CURIOUS
I'll also add that you keep naming big franchises that underperformed, as if that debunks the Covid boost. But what it actually proves is that even massive IPs will underperform when timing, competition, and structure work against them.
The only reason Mugen Train broke ยฅ40B is because everything else got cleared out of its way. No competition. No big releases. Theaters needed something to fill space, and families went to rewatch it again and again because there was literally nothing else and they got stimulus money from the government.
Infinity Castle isn't walking into that luxury. It's walking into:
>Superman (Week 1)
>Fantastic Four (Week 2)
>Jurassic World (Week 4)
>Plus, the Japanese economy is trash (worse than Greece)
>Plus, Aniplex has burned out casuals with yearly overexposure
>Plus, 2h35m runtime killing repeat showings and cinemas absolutely hate long movies
So yeah, it's gonna make way less. And all the weeb cope in the world wonโt change that. And Japan isn't going to play favorites with Demon Slayer either, it's all business and they're not gonna give some non-finale anime movie the red carpet treatment over Hollywood blockbusters. In fact, Superman gets MORE IMAX screenings than Demon Slayer in its own home turf. It gets 1,650 screens while Demon Slayer only gets 59 IMAX and 370 regular which is... 452 in total, lmao.

>>280393469>>280393485LMAO. Your dumbass is over here bragging about TV ratings like it's 2006. Reminder: TV viewership =/= box office sales. Fuji TV reruns pulling decent ratings means jackshit when Aniplex has to shove 2.5-hour bloated arcs into cinemas to squeeze revenue out of a dead manga.
Also, thanks for confirming that Aniplex is milking y'all like cows at a dairy farm. That's not success, that's exploitation. And judging by how Swordsmith Village flopped globally, they're gonna need all the help they can get, lmao.
>m-most watched anime on TV!!Yeah, because the competition is weak as hell. You're bragging that Demon Slayer is outdrawing Sazae-san reruns and Detective Conan, which literally air during dinner in every Japanese household. Congrats, king of the nursing home time slot, lol. And if Demon Slayer was really the box office god you believe it is, it wouldn't need an entire year of marketing, special screenings, fake finales, recap gimmicks, and a September international rollout to prop up Part 1 of a trilogy. People watched it on TV because it was free. People streamed it because they already have subscriptions. Paying ยฅ1800+ for a 155-minute mid-arc theatrical episode? That's a harder sell, especially in an economy where the PM says the country's worse off than Greece.
DVR stats don't sell popcorn. And streaming views don't buy IMAX screens. Theaters only care about one thing: asses in seats, showings per day, and per-screen revenue. Infinity Castle has a long runtime, stiff competition, no finale hype, and a tired brand. Cope all you want with your Nielsen spreadsheets, this thing ainโt touching Mugen Train's numbers, and deep down, you know I'm right.

>>280393584'Widest release' means jack unless you understand what that actually translates to. Yes, 452 theaters sounds impressive until you realize *it's split between regular and IMAX*. It includes countryside and low-traffic zones where ticket sales are marginal. Theaters aren't infinite, theyโre giving time slots, not lifetime achievement awards.
You can shove a movie into every screen from Tokyo to some rice field in Tottori, but if your film is 2h35m long and competing with Superman, Fantastic Four, and Jurassic World within the same 3-week window, all youโre doing is cannibalizing your own traffic. Widest release = distribution potential. That's not a flex, it's the starting line. Box office dominance is about screens with high turnover urban markets with repeat traffic family-friendly time slots retention in theaters beyond Week 2.
Swordsmith Village also had a wide release. Nobody remembers it. Wanna know why? It got slaughtered by better-paced films with tighter runtimes and stronger rewatch culture. You people brag like Sony is blessing Japan by carpet-bombing rural cinemas with sakuga slideshow episodes. Meanwhile, Hollywood is pulling up with tighter runtimes, shorter films, bigger brand power, and better IMAX traction.
Keep pretending theater count = box office win. The Flash opened in over 4,000 theaters. It bombed. Morbius went wide. It got laughed out of cinemas. Distribution is the ammo. Execution is the kill and this 155-minute mid-arc slog has no clean shot.

>MHA: You're NextA filler movie. No canon weight. No finale hype. Dropped in August, in the middle of box office hell competing with:
>Deadpool & Wolverine>Inside Out 2>Despicable Me 4>Bad Boys: Ride or DieAnd it still made more internationally than Demon Slayer's recap movie (To the Hashira Training), which:
>had the full marketing push from Aniplex/Sony>dropped in February aka dump month where nothing big releases>was branded as "new content" to milk hype>had a 1.5-hour runtime (actually theater-friendly)>had no real competition and still flopped internationallyMeanwhile, MHA was in the bloodbath month of summer, got fewer screens, and still pulled $27M+ international. Demon Slayer? $26M. Demon Slayer couldn't even beat a MHA filler movie, not even with all the advantages it got and you're bragging about a recap movie getting mopped by filler? Embarrassing.
>>280393937>A recap movie beating mha movie is bad because......western movies>also mha flopped because all of those western movies but its okay!lmao
a fucking RECAP mogged mha lil bro
>>280392141Tbh you can spot this kind of behavior in any fandom, when autistic enough.
>>280393937You mean to say it made LESS money than a fucking recap movie that cost nothing because it's airing on tv and getting paid just by the ads that run during it, yes.
>>280393945>>280393952You're seriously bragging that a recap movie barely scraped past a filler movie that had zero canon relevance and dropped in the most competitive box office window of the year? lmao.
MHA: filler, mid-summer bloodbath, limited promo, fewer screens, still made $27M international
Hashira Training: recap, no new canon, zero competition, wide release, full Aniplex push, still couldn't clear $27M international in a dump month
You keep acting like it dominated when the margin is literally $1M, and it had every advantage possible. That's not a flex, that's called getting carried and still barely crossing the line. Imagine getting an entire marketing engine behind you, releasing in a dead month, and you still can't convincingly outperform a franchise that didn't even try. Embarrassing.
And lol @ you talking about TV ad revenue like that's supposed to be a win. Guess what, lil bro? Movies aren't judged by "how cheap they were to produce." They're judged by how much they make relative to their reach and hype. And your "recap king" got cooked internationally. You're out here dunking on a filler movie because it's the only W you can find. Meanwhile, the real box office monsters lile Mario, Sonic, Frozen, Top Gun and Jurassic are all outgrossing your IP without needing a recap, rerun, or 2-hour Naruo-tier therapy flashback to do it.

>>280394047>>280394075Classic Spic cope, rofl. They cherry-pick their source when the numbers stop working. You got wrecked with BoxOfficeMojo and now suddenly you've become The Numbers' #1 fan? lmao.
Here's the truth that your third world taco-munching ass don't know: BoxOfficeMojo is owned and run by IMDB/Amazon, and it pulls from studio-reported figures, actual distributor inputs, and industry-tracked estimates. The Numbers is decent, but it also lags behind and is notorious for occasional discrepancies in international reporting. In other words: you jumped platforms not for accuracy, but for comfort. You needed a few extra pity dollars on the Demon Slayer column to stop the bleeding.
But even if I play along with your Numbers cope? Cool. Let's say Hashira Training made $32M internationally vs. MHA's $27M. Congratulations, your big, flashy, Aniplex-marketed recap movie barely beat a filler movie that dropped in summer hell, had less promo, and didnโt even have a major push overseas. That's still embarrassing.
Demon Slayer needed: dump month full Aniplex/Sony push 1.5-hour runtime no Hollywood blockbusters around weeks of IMAX/4DX premium screens years of Mugen Train clout... to scrape past a low-effort filler movie by $5 million. If that's your W, your bar is underground.
Meanwhile, MHA's movie:
>released in a meat grinder>had less reach>didn't pretend to be "the next saga">and still walked away profitable. So yes, I'll keep using BoxOfficeMojo because it shows (You) were the one coping first, until the receipts embarrassed you. And now you're here pulling the "nuh-uh that site doesn't count!" card like a third grader who got outscored in dodgeball. The moment you switched sources mid-argument, you admitted you lost.

>>280394271He'll justify anything for mha and twist everything into bad about kny or any other series he hates.
>>280394194>>280394196LMAO. Now you're gloating (more like crying, I can feel the asshurt from across my monitor) that your glorified clip show didn't go in the red?
You started this whole meltdown bragging that Demon Slayer was mogging all anime, smashing box office charts, and cooking billion-dollar Hollywood IPs. And now you've downgraded your argument to:
>"b-but it wasnโt a financial failure!"Congrats. You went from 'King of the Box Office' to 'at least we didn't flop.'
Hereโs the hard truth, Paco: Demon Slayer's international draw has clearly weakened post-Mugen Train. Your recap movie dropped during a dead month with no competition and still got outgrossed internationally by a FILLER movie from My Hero Academia that dropped in the middle of the summer bloodbath. If MHA had the same calendar slot, no competition, and Sony/Aniplex throwing millions behind it, you'd never hear the end of it.
And let's not even get into the fact that your new benchmark for "winning" is breaking even. Youโve officially reached cope stage five: 'not a flop = success!'
Sad.
>>280394307>still got outgrossed internationally by a FILLER movie from My Hero Academia that dropped in the middle of the summer bloodbathwhere's the source? bring each country revenue otherwise this is fake
>>280394307>breaking evenI mean, in this case they spent less than a million and made 50, companies kill for that RoI.
This nigger is absolutely seething

Why did pokemon absolutely destroy MHA entire revenue lifetime in 1 day?
>>280394366becauseeverything loses against pokemon. no franchise comes close to the juggernaut, the second highest grossing franchise barely sells half as much (and half as much as pokemon is already a titan on its own) not even star wars and disney princess together can match pokemon.

>>280394404we lost mha bros....we're such cucks to pokemon
>>280394366MHA will destroy pokemon after the LA
Nobody cares about pokemon nowadays.
>>280393542Because even the schizo knows comparing Kimetsu to it's contemporaries is a fools game. He knows deep in his heart that it will surpass his favorite so he deflects and hides behind another IP and the west, even though Japan (as he himself has admited) doesnt care for capeshit.
>>280394326Nope. I already showed you the source: BoxOfficeMojo (that you tried to use and owned yourself) which is industry standard and not a fan wiki or guesswork. You don't backpedal now, you said it was fake, so let's bring out the receipts and make you eat that bark you'ee chewing.
>international gross? My Hero Academia: Youโre Next
$18,458,211 international
Source: Box Office Mojo
Demon Slayer: To the Hashira Training
$15,124,356 international (excluding Japan)
Source: Box Office Mojo
Want to know how I calculated that? Since Demon Slayer's full international number is $32,782,014 and Japan alone was $17.6M, the non-Japan international take is $15.1M. That's math, Paco. Not cope.
Now look at MHA:
$5M U.S. + $18.4M international = $23.4M
And this was in August, against Inside Out 2, Despicable Me 4, Deadpool, and Bad Boys 4.
Meanwhile, Demon Slayer's movie released in February aka the dump month, had no competition, Sony shoved it into every IMAX and major screen they could, and it still got outgrossed overseas by a filler flick from a "dead" franchise.
You're asking for revenue breakdowns like that changes anything. The aggregate already says it all: MHA filler > Demon Slayer recap internationally.
You brought this on yourself. You should've shut up when you had the chance, but now you're getting slapped by math (Mexicans hate math) and BoxOfficeMojo at the same time. Keep coping, you've downgraded from mogging Hollywood to bragging about barely breaking even on a recap. Pathetic.
>>280394618Wrong, the numbers is the industry wide standard that deadline uses (as a box office enthusiast, you should know this)
Kny made 32 million WW alone according to it. MHA with japan and everything made only 23m.
All the rest is merely cope and seethe at the absolute rape a recap movie did (that cost near 0 compared to MHA new movie)
Advance tickets sold out in many places
What is this faggot even talking about breaking even? He realizes the recap movies has no new episodes or nothing right? it's not a new movie with animation and budget.
also 50M is huge profit for any anime movie let alone kny. it's probably 100x-1000x return on investment considering the season profits
>>280394670Jeremy will refuse to see the sheer HYPE japan has for that movie.
>>280394670Muchibke already has kny at 20k and growing. Will probably end up at 22k-26k.
for reference the recent conan movie that made 14b was at 14k.
and this is hardcore users, not light users. which kny has a lot of em and conan is basically mostly hardcore
>>280394670>>280394695They also sold out for Superman, Jurassic World and even Fantastic Four, and unlike Demon Slayer, those movies are shorter so they're more rewatch-friendly, lmao. Advance tickets means nothing when the runtime is still 2h35m and it'll get fewer showings per day which will HUGELY affect the box office.
>>280394767>They also sold out for Supermanthey did not
>Jurassic World it didn't even start yet. do you know how japan tickets work?
>Fantastic Fourliterally who?
why do you lie and lie and lie lil bro?
>>2803947712020 was the most brutal mogging in the history of manga.
>>280394366He's seething because a Pokemon movie screened during covid as Kimetsu's competition but still underperformed so it blew his whole "no competition" narrative wide open. He also said Sonic was a foreign IP lel.
>>280394651And here comes the 'The Numbers is gospel!!' cope.
First off, The Numbers =/= reliable international breakdown. It literally estimates international numbers based on distributor inputs and projections, often weeks out of sync or inflated due to rounding. It's not used for detailed territory tracking, just ask anyone who works box office analytics or follows Deadline or Variety. When they want per-market accuracy, they use Box Office Mojo, Comscore, or directly reported studio data.
Want proof? The Numbers says Demon Slayer: Hashira Training made $32.7M international. Box Office Mojo gives $15.1M international (after subtracting Japan's $17.6M). That's a $17 million discrepancy. Guess which one is using real exhibitor data? Hint: it's not The Numbers.
Second, you're moving the goalpost again. Your argument wasn't:
>"What's the best ROI?"It was:
>"Demon Slayer mogged MHA."Now that MHA outgrossed Hashira Training internationally, you're pretending it's about production cost? If we go there:
>MHA: Youโre Next = an original non-canon movie, actually costs more to make, animate, and promote.>Hashira Training = recap + one TV episode. Dirt cheap. And it still underperformed internationally compared to MHA, even with Sony Music pushing it like it was a mainline event. That's not a flex, it's a budget bin hustle.
Third, even by The Numbers Demon Slayer looks worse. Using your own "industry standard":
>Hashira Training = $50.4M worldwide>MHA = $23.5M worldwideBut hold up, Demon Slayer has:
>a bigger IP>more marketing>more fanbase reach>and a February release with no big competitionAnd it barely did double what MHA did with a non-canon filler movie in box office hell month (August), surrounded by billion-dollar titans. That's like LeBron James needing overtime to beat a high school benchwarmer. It's not a flex, it's a red flag.
>>280394893>Demon Slayer has:>>a bigger IPowari da. Jeremy himself admits KnY is bigger

>>280394893>Third, even by The Numbers Demon Slayer looks worse. You DO realize it's a recap movie, everyone is aware it's a recap movie, and no one really bothers with those, right?

>Bigger IP = More fans, more global pull, more money behind it>Recap movie = Basically no budget, cobbled together from TV content.>MHA = Dead franchise (your words), with a filler movie>Outcome: MHA made more money overseas. Even with less reach. In a bloodbath month. With zero Sony/Aniplex marketing muscle.Thatโs not a flex for you. That's an embarrassment, rofl. You're basically yelling:
>'Demon Slayer is HUGE!! But it still got clowned on by a filler movie from a dead franchise!'Thank you for playing yourself, monkey.
>>280394910I know it's a recap. That's the whole point. You guys hyped the ever-living hell out of this recap, Sony dumped it into every IMAX screen possiblel, Crunchyroll called it a 'new theatrical experience', Aniplex marketed it like a mainline event and ut dropped in February, a dead zone with no competition.
And despite all that, it couldn't outgross a filler movie from a "smaller" IP overseas. You can't brag about box office wins when your recap got mogged internationally, even with more money, more screens, more push, and no competition. That's like the CEO's son losing a race to the intern who showed up late wearing Crocs. And no, you don't get to pretend it 'doesnโt count!' now. [Theatrical pre-sale ticket sales] As of July 9, 2025, according to the websites of cinema branches and the information released by the official channels of the branches, the sales of movie pre-sale tickets of several major distribution theaters in Japan were manually counted: 96 Lawson theaters nationwide, 75 TOHO theaters, 25 Shochiku theaters, 22 Toei theaters, and 21 109 theaters, as well as independent theaters other than the major theaters. Because some theater websites failed to synchronize the inventory data of movie pre-sale tickets in a timely manner, the system missed a high rate, which was particularly prominent in AEON theaters and independent theaters other than the major theaters. Therefore, the actual sales volume may be more than the statistics show. At present, at least 320 theaters have sold out the [8-set set] <Special Set>. Also, just to add extra burn: you keep talking like Demon Slayerโs theatrical wins are just starting. Let me remind you: this franchise peaked in 2020. Every movie since then has made less. Meanwhile MHA, a show you call 'dead' is still pulling international wins with filler. And it's about to get a big-budget live-action from Legendary Pictures. Demon Slayer? It's running out of manga chapters and milking three movies out of 47 chapters. That's not dominance,
thatโs desperation.
MHA went mainstream, actual mainstream. It's joining the big boys league together with Dragon Ball, One Piece and Naruto. Why? Because it has crossover appeal, something Demon Slayer don't have. There's a reason why Aniplex are doing a trilogy. It's because they're stretching out the final few chapters, not because there's so much story, but because they're milking the last drops of fan engagement before it dries up like your father's child support payments. Once the anime ends, the Demon Slayer dies. Just like how this IP is single-handedly carried by the anime, the anime also keeps it on life-support. MHA is a marathon runner, Demon Slayer is a sprinter. MHA will outlive it.
