Well, the pacing was a bit choppy compared to what I'd have preferred, but no way around that I suppose. Overall the performances and animation are pretty solid, but the composition and editing could be a little better. Yuu's relationship with his mom has an appropriate amount of gravity. And I liked many of the little touches they added, too.

Having watched the second episode now, they condensed 90% of volume 1 into two episodes. If they keep a similar pace, they should be able to adapt all the way to the end of volume 6. Sakura appears at the tail end of volume 4, so probably somewhere around episode 8/9. (She's pretty prominent in the OP, though).

Speaking of which, they also removed that small scene with Niko and Miwa that happens before Kazuki finds Yuu in front of the TV. I get why they did it, since the main point (Yuu spent his nights trying his best to get better at acting, to Kazuki's surprise) still comes across, but I liked it because it showed that the other two sisters are already opening up to him even when he isn't actively running after them.
