Only problem was them feeling the need to explain the original series' final episode and take the deaths/plot/lore/serialization more seriously when the original show had characters casually dying from time to time only to be okay in the next episode without explanation, it would be like making a Pani Poni Dash sequel and trying to give a canon explanation as to why all the characters are still alive when some of the main cast members died in a couple of episodes only to show up alive and well in the next while introducing more lore like one of them being secretly evil or some shit, other than that it was fine but I feel like it missed the point to a degree

He actually worked on a project with Ralph Bakshi and Bakshi had to fire and rehire him multiple times due to John throwing fits during the production
He's been known to talk shit about other projects that his co workers worked on like how he talked shit about a guy who worked on iron giant who was also working on ren and stimpy at the time
Nick didn't want him after ren and stimpy for missing so many deadlines and let him keep the majority of his other pitches like George Liquor
Last I saw he had some kind of gallery in Japan for ren and stimpy like two or three years ago
The thing is that he knows his shit when it comes to animation and generally is a hard worker but he is too much of a liability to work with

Is it the first time an anime meant to shill a game actually worked? It's not like CDPR stopped updating CP but it 100% did get more eyes on it.

I like that it combined a bunch of stuff the artists made about how they'd follow up on the season 1 ending, like that fake poster Gainax made right when hopes for a season 2 were still somewhat fresh.

There was also a doujin made by the old writers and artists about how they would've done it. It had parts like Panty getting a new persona because Brief forgot to put the 666th piece between her legs, and Garter getting the same kind of eyepatch, but it would've had a fight against a mutant Corset and Panty dumping Brief for Nova from Space Patrol Luluco.

The opening moment is a memory lane stroll concluding in a lament that it’s over (goodbye my bitch angel), that’s then followed up by a pep talk and getting into gear. The main goal of the episode is reviving both Panty and Stocking, Panty especially is portrayed as loved and lost. The fan favorite demon sisters are roped in almost as a matter of course, and the initial revival of Panty is playing on the tension of bringing something back but it not being the same, and Brief as the stand in for the fanboy is understandably conflicted. Panty’s missing piece is the spice of the old show, the “soul”. You see the whole non-PSG cast come together as one to deliver the final piece, and it’s Brief’s memory of the good old days that gives it the final push. Panty’s revival begins as a seriously angry moment where she’s gunning for murderous revenge but as the fight progresses it slowly becomes a classic sisterly spat between the two until Garter breaks them up like he used to. From two titans destroying the city like freaks of nature down to something as small as “but garter she’s pulling my hair!” and the two make up as quickly as they fought. The final group drive off feels almost “found family” as Garterbelt asserts that the demon sisters are one of them now, and Panty remembers Brief this time. Even the ED was just the cast jamming out together like a group. Garter being a mystery nigga in the post credits sequence aside, it was heartwarming and it feels like they really do love this thing that they made 15 years ago.

While the new ED doesn’t quite compare to *one of the best EDs ever* it is growing on me a lot. I really like the song as a fit for PSG, where it’s lacking is the visuals department. Fallen Angel told a bit of a story (a few anons even posted headcanon from it alone) and drew you closer to the main characters, this new one is just a bit feel good and cute to see the characters playing together. My ideal situation would be that the ED changes the visuals every episode because it’s so simple looking, having new characters dancing or gags.
