I kinda really disliked Miorine's storyline in how she's presented as an ultimate good. The effect on the world feels like what Guin wanted to achieve. She's the head of the military industrial complex that actively colludes with each other. I believe in her good intentions but she's part of the problem in that world.

Well, it's not even a lie. Guel is the only character who literally has his own arc, a goal, a final villain.

His story is intertwined with Suletta's, but it develops parallelly. If he had a Gundam, by only changing the screentime and the point of view (but not the events, which remain the same), he could easily be the protagonist. His goal is to save his company and take responsibility for his mistakes, while also stopping a madwoman who wants to destroy everything. Yes, because the consequences of Quiet Zero are a massive data storm that would have hit the entire area, including the school.

In fact, he's the one who has the final battle with Shaddiq and Lauda. Suletta has the same role normally given to the "magical fantasy girl" who "calms the dragon" with her positive magic (I'm looking at you, Bahamut Lagoon, complete with NTR). So at the end of the day it's a show that stealthily always has a male character doing the dirty work.

NTA, but no. I found very few designs in G-witch to be good. The series has a major problem with actually showing engineering; Nika somehow developed an upgrade for the black box Aerial out of scraps, designed and built entirely offscreen. The demi-trainer grunts are both ugly and useless, and even the hyped-up Demi Barding upgrade is used... to taxi Miorine to a space station and nothing else.
The Throne analogues Lfrith Ur and Lfrith Thorn are hideously ugly, and Calibarn is lackluster for a final upgrade. I saw a lot of people that wanted Schwarzette to be Suletta's final suit, and I'm one of them. That one was wasted on a pointless duel with Guel, and Pharact was wasted entirely. The show treats its mobile suits like gunpla instead of giant robots.

It made me hope the next Gundam show had a stronger focus on mechanical engineering, and I got that twice over with RFV and GQX, to my delight.

This is one of the many other problems of a show that manages to hit a target and yet is a narrative disaster on the others sides. It would have been nice if some disease had come to light, something that would have shown that there was actually a need for those implants to live in space.

You know what I feel like people never realized or said out lout about them? That they were not actually true members of the terrorist group that attacked the Plant, but Ochs Earth Corporation's agents. In episode 19, when the big reveal about the Space Assembly League comes up, Prospera reads out their profiles. Sophie and Norea are merely their code names, and their true affiliation is where their Gundams came from: Ochs Earth. I realized this myself after a rewatch, and reading the M&W book, which mentions that both Lfriths and their pilots "came from an external organization" (Ochs Earth). To confirm this, I checked if there were any mentions or hints of this affiliation before the reveal. The small infoboxes on their profiles for Lfrith gunpla manuals only mention them only being "dispatched" by Dawn of Fold, almost like they're not members. The second hint comes from the fact that Sophie and Norea were snooping around Pharact in episode 13, which was implied to be part of their mission. There's no reason for a small terrorist group to learn about a prototype MS not even in production, since they can't even produce any MS. However, there might be a motivation for an illegal manufacturer to know more about a potential rival. The same episode also mentions something important, which is that Norea had never met Nika prior to Asticassia, meaning she and Sophie have only been with DoF for a short period of time. The reason why Norea didn't seem to rush back to Earth could simply be that her mission with DoF ended, and her current orders are to remain under authority of a fellow SAL/Ochs affiliate, Shaddiq.

tl;dr
Sophie and Norea were actually Ochs Earth's agents, and were indeed meant as a foil to Peil's own agents, the Enhanced Persons 4 and 5.

Don't get me wrong, the space hug (and chase) was an iconic scene that will be remembered by yurifags forever, but their relationship legit peaked there. Not only did the show never really allow Suletta to do anything interesting, but it also never really did anything else with Suletta and Miorine's relationship for a whole fucking season (besides have them break up). The fact that despite all this Sulemio is nevertheless ultimately so insanely loved just goes to show how important and frankly exonerating a couple getting a good, canon end that the fans want to see is.

Because this is not a pure yuri show. It's a Gundam show with a lot of characters with their roles, mecha battles, some fake politics, and two yuri girls at the center.

This is a show that would have benefited from the usual 50 episodes. The usual filler episodes in every 50-episode show are used to build the yuri relationships and give the mecha designers a break, the rest for Gundam stuff. Oh well, for Season 2 seems like the author hadn't even really thought of it.
