I've started to notice that anime now is adapting damn near every manga that exists instead of creating original content.

These are the manga seralizations reprinted in book form. Manga is normally printed in an almost magazine style

Death of talent, it's happening slower than in the west but farming out so much crap to Korea over the years has been a massive drain on talent in the industry.

I said both because I assumed if I just said manga someone would nitpick over what I said, but basically anime primarily exists as advertising to drive the sales of both and studios would rather do that than take a chance on original stories that don't already have an established fanbase that will bring in viewers, cause if it doesn't bring in viewers they've just wasted a bunch of money on a show no one watched and will not produce any external profits from manga sales, Japanese businesses are very risk averse

Cell animation has darker shadows and more textured coloring. That's it. That's why old anime feel more soulful. Darker shadows and texture.

It's not really that crazy; The original adaptation simply ran out of material but didn't (and couldn't) just stop and wait, but the manga was still plenty popular and so different that they likely planed the second adaptation way before even starting on it.

Brotherhood timing matched with the manga ending perfectly, so that's not a coincidence.
