lord of the mysteries is an isekai tho but the chinese call it transmigration probably because only troons like isekai, I liked the other donghua that got japanese animators mad, the one with the kuraeizi fight it had really good animation and although the story was on the same level as your day to day isekai slop the concept of the story was really good and innovative, the chinese are getting better at making stories, I still feel like chinese animation studios could save japanese manga because they can release high quality animations at a low cost, if they are using AI then it is done exceptionally well and you don't notice it unlike Toei with One Piece where you can clearly tell when they used AI

Naruto wants to be hokage because he wants to be acknowledged and is lonely/Tanjiro is broke and now wants to undemon his sister cause she's his only family left/Deku wants to be a hero but couldnt because he had no quirk despite having the heart for it and so on, once you have a good enough hook and compelling main character it feels like people would be willing to put up with whatever plot point you then try to do. It's fine for Naruto to go on the Land of Waves arc because doing important missions is a step to becoming Hokage, and scenes like him getting his headband back from Zabuza and working on tree climbing would make the readers want to see him succeed more. Likewise Tanjiro has to go on an early 3+ chapter training arc because the readers can see that he was powerless against a real demon twice and he does need a training arc to be able to save his sister (in Otr for comparison, like some complained he's already plenty strong by the end of chapter 1 so having a training arc feels weird and unnecessary compared to Tanjiro who could just kinda dance and smell). Deku also has to work for One for All (his training arc was 1 chapter long and still managed to have the garbage cleaning and "eat this" scenes) and then do an entrance exam because thats how schools work.

When a new manga fails early on I don't think its just because they weren't fast enough to get to the plot, but because the plot that they managed to get to just wasn't interesting enough for most people. Sure Bleach is mostly just monster of the week until like Volume 5, but there were a lot of things going for Bleach like the art and premise (at the time) that allowed people to get attached to it.

Some theaters have cut every film except Kokuhou to 1 screening per day to make some space on Friday. All popular series have a good, captivating premise.
Kagurabachi has a good, engaging premise. It makes you want to be kept updated on the series even if the current story or characters aren't that good.
Kagurabachi was able to back that premise with an engaging plot, villains, action of the first couple arcs. That's why it succeeded. That's why I'm still following it it even though I don't like SBA arc.
The lack of good premise is the main reason for manga cancellation or low popularity. Just look at cancelled manga. Most their premises are boring shit.
Second reason is obviously an inability to back good premise with an engaging plot, villains and action. Like, Gachiakuta has solid 8/10 premise which allowed it to reach 50k fm, but the follow up was just okay, so the sales went down.
Or look at the current batch. The only series with an interesting premise is Kaedegami, but it's also the candidate on the failed follow up (that is fine so far, but it can easily be ruined). Other three are failure at Ch1-2.
Take Otr. Premise is 5/10 at best, follow up is 3/10. What did Kawaguchi think? Idk.
And so on.
Premise matters a lot. As does follow up. If both are good, manga will most likely end up being very popular.
But that's not easy.
