I prefer yuri but I dont really care. to me the appeal is all in her design and stoic determination. if her love interest is male it doesn't make much of a difference. what I want has more to do with framing than romance. I want the story to be focused around how she overcomes her obstacles of combat and social problems by being a sheep demon or half breed or whatever happens to be the social implications of that, and her combat problems and advantages of being loli shovel knight. If you think of how most isekai or regular battle manga go, I want the escalation to focus on her and continue to build and build on that shovel.

Her design has almost a mega-man like timelessness to it. She's attractive, but she's also stocky and thick without that solely referring to her ass or thighs. shes short. She'll be smaller in almost any engagement. Megaman also has that same deal of always being a little shorter than the bigger tougher robot masters. you could make similar comparisons to gohan, or early goku. It makes me increasingly want to root for her, but I know, as I am too experienced in reading manga, that I wont be very satisfied with her as the heroine because she will and has always been put in peril or jobbing so that the MC can protec. She doesn't even have to be the strongest on her team, you can give her an estelle bright like position and make the regular male love interest stronger with his whatever evil eye power. But basically every time I look at this character I want to see her take front and center in conflicts and really show us the spectacle of the underdog wielding a shovel folded over 9000 times
