She is downright abusive and she simply isn't there for Ranma when he needs her. She is more of an obstacle for him than help. Ranma gets assaulted by the skate guy because she didnt catch him... later she laughs at him... she is so freaking mean.

But that's simply untrue. Out of all of Ranma's suitors she has the best track record of helping Ranma out when he's in a bind. Shampoo is a far second and she usually has ulterior motives. Ukyo and Kodachi are rarely around to give him a hand, unfortunately due to their low screentime.

Competition isnt great. Everyone is an asshole to Ranma in the story.... but Akane.... Ranma entered thst vompetition for Ryoga and her... they both laughed st him getting SAd. The moment she laughed, I wanted to punch her. Imagine if Ranma laughed when her hair was cut. Literally excluding Kasumi and Tofu everyone is an asshole to him.
