If you boil it down, releasing a 125ish page volume means he has manged to produce a page roughly every 3 days for the entire year. That's pretty impressive even though his output has declined by about 30 pages a year since he started and would consistently get just over 150 pages out every year. His greatest achievement was producing volume 5, 150 pages in the span of 7 months.

The problem is he does seem to have long periods where he doesn't get anything done which leads to crunch time, he's also over 10 years older than when he started, the story takes many more pages to tell than it did in the beginning. But I think the biggest thing is he just doesn't have the same sense of urgency he did before the series got the anime and became a hit. After he fulfilled his contract to get volume 6 out prior to the anime airing it's been smooth sailing. Basically assured success so long as he can get a volume out every year so that's all he aims for. But now he's also living out his dream of being a vtuber whenever he is working.

I’m a big Mia fan but I can’t help it, I’m very disappointed by this cover. Not only Reg’s arms are inverted but his hair is fucking red (yes I know Tsucc is colorblind). The longer I read this manga, the more I start to agree with Snob's review of it. There's really nothing to the show other than mystery bait, Riko and Reg have very basic personalities with nothing to them, Reg doesn't even have a motive that he can even describe himself. He's a walking plot device so that the journey is debuffed for Riko. There's nothing about lore regarding the white whistles, the village around the Abyss etc. Mitty was just a plot device to make the viewer feel some cheap emotions. The village arc accomplished nothing, and even with the flashbacks, we still know literally nothing about Reg.

The delver's themselves. Rico on the other hand didn’t find her mother and didn’t discover anything, since the only thing she knows about the Abyss is scattered information other explorers have already recorded in books.
It’s a perpetually ongoing mystery, existing for the sole purpose of teasing the viewer, before it overstays its welcome and becomes nonsensical in the likes of Lost. There are not even any traditions or folklore regarding the explorers and how they are living around the abyss. The hole has nothing to do with them. They just moved there to essentially pillage the place for money, and have nothing to say about their civilization or the culture they are currently tomb raiding. So basically, despite the setting being a very deep hole, there is absolutely no immersion. It’s vapid air, nothing is fleshed out.

No need to convert within Calibre for extraction. EPUB files, especially for comics are usually a glorified CBZ with formatting defined and stuff. You can copy and paste them to a directory outside of your Calibre directory, change the file extension to .zip (or even CBZ, it works for every EPUB comic I've tried it on), and just extract them, the images inside will generally be numbered in order in the images or media subdirectory, or you could drag them back into Calibre, or do whatever you want.

Also, Calibre lets you save images from EPUBs in the reader itself by right clicking if you'd rather not duplicate files. Made in Abyss might give you tiny images in the viewer, but they're still viewable and savable. You can right click, open and save images.

Would be kinda neat if it was fixed for reprints or the overseas versions and the original JP version with the backwards arms went up in value.

Not him, there are two things you need, since you need more effort if you're buying and ripping KFX files from Amazon, it's their proprietary format. If you have them, skip this part.

First, you need the KFX Input plugin,
Optionally, you'll need the KFX output plugin if you have a Kindle and don't want to use Mobi.
Both can be obtained on calibre-ebook's plugins subdomain, or just by Googling them.

I'm also assuming your KFX files have no DRM and you've already handled that.

Once you've installed the plugin, you'll need to convert the KFX file to an ePub first, which can be done by right clicking on the book you wish to convert, clicking the "Convert books" option, and clicking "Convert Individually". Set the output format, on the right, to ePub, and make sure the input format, on the left, says KFX.

Also, messing with ripped comic books is an ordeal and it'll take you a dozen hours of messing around to fully understand it. It could be easier to just buy the book and then pirate it as a CBZ.
