I see what Reiji did wrong. He was so focused undoing the damage he did at Hawaiians that he just couldn’t restructure his story better. We didn’t need to skip what the other heroines were thinking during the ghosting. Ruka straight up didn’t needed to be humiliated by the author by not showing up almost at all in Co-Habitation like that. Readers saw what he was doing making his favorite rental play the manipulation guessing game with his self-insert and they just took one look at future volumes and said “Nope”.
