To start, Yoru reaction is odd, to shed tears for Nuclear Weapons revival and not even celebrate or snark at Fallings defeat is new to her character. But is her reaction due to Nuclear Weapon's revival or something else?
To add, if it really is Nuclear Weapons and she's just emotional over her precious child returning, that reaction started before she saw the news, did she remember it because of that strike to her head or was it the fear of the soviet people being in the receiving end that made her remember? because if it was just the discovery, presumably she would have found a long time ago (when the weapon was first theorized).

For me it sounds like people latching to FC are people rooting for Yoru's survival, given how an evil devil with so many skeletons in her closet has a small chance of staying alive by the end of the manga, given how Power, Nayuta and Angel all died for less.
Then there is P who latches onto it because it excuses Denji for all of those YoruDen moments, which is why he flip-flops between FC and Fusion depending on whichever is more convenient.

Yeah, I'm gonna be honest, I vastly prefer the fusion theory over Fight Club. It gives Asa more agency as a character and wouldn't make it feel like Asa got erased from existence. And that's not even mentioning all the plot holes FC would retroactively create. The only problem is that them fusing right now would still be too early, and even if they fuse, Asa would lose some of her agency as well. I'd prefer it if they just stayed separate as characters.
