structure. the highs of part 2 are higher than part 1, but the pacing is very stop and start. the first few arcs are amazing and the story starts getting hype with the falling devil, then the church/prison arc feels like a de-escalation and is just fine. then it gets insanely hype again with pochita and yoru and the aging devil stuff, then it de-escalates again with the current arc which is good but not mind blowing.
meanwhile part 1 has incredible structure and pacing, it starts out pretty okay but each successive arc is more exciting and crazy than the last one, everything just keeps escalating and escalating until the very end. it just comes together better than part 2

the door imagery was foreshadowing aki, power, AND denji's dad all at the same time, all 3 people denji was guilt tripped by makima into thinking he killed. the dad reveal isn't supposed to be crazy on it's own, just the last thing to push denji over the edge and mindbreak him
