I think the biggest thing as to why he's fucked is that he has to keep resetting his Authority if he's alive too long. He's freefalling, so naturally moving away from whatever his matrix point is set to. The poison, while fast acting, probably takes like 3-5 seconds to actually kill him which is also a lot of distance he'll be falling for. He probably only has like 10 seconds per matrix, half of which will probably be spent killing himself with poison. Meaning he also has to update it at or past the 5s mark regularly which may slowly whittle him down depending on how tricky it is to evade attacks and damage. Naturally these numbers are just guesses, but the nature of the fight means he will have to update his matrix at least a few times before landing I think.
