Even before the anime came out, I tried to read the WN. Tried. I made it part-way through the Demon Continent arc and couldn’t take it anymore so dropped it. It was just so damn boring. Once you lose interest in an isekai it’s hard to come to it later because so there’s many more to read. Thinking back on it, the only entertaining part was the dad’s relationship drama, and that’s just sad. The big world-changing displacement event just sort of happened and was over, then it was off to the Demon Continent. 90% of the story until then was just a waste of time and cringe.

At least for this part, I think in a world with a stillborn Rudeus, Zenith would probably let Paul fuck Lilia sooner so they can still have a child. That would lead to Aisha being born a lot sooner (making her about a year younger than Sylphie), and if they had a girl they were going to raise her to be a magician, so even before she was able to develop any actual magical talent, they hired a tutor for her. Since Aisha wouldn't have Rudeus's phobia of going outside, Roxy would probably take her all over Buena during the lessons, and because she doesn't have Rudeus's past knowledge to help her learn quicker (even though she is very smart) she wouldn't master everything Roxy knows in two and a half years. This would inevitably lead to them running into Sylphie being bullied, causing Roxy and/or Aisha to save her. Sylphie would then be just as amazed by her saviors, and would probably want to learn magic too, leading to Roxy teaching Sylphie alongside Aisha.
