For the longest time, yuri has been under sieged from the outsiders who want to seek to change the genre from within, the ultra purists who swear destruction if the yuri they consume deviates from their fundamentalist view, and of course, the anti yuri degenerates who dream of our extermination at every turn. I want the genre to grow big, grow invincible and achieve the final victory.

This is one of the odd things about ZenKowa to me. Volumes 2, 4, and a chunk of 5 all kept the leads apart. Kokoro and even arguably Kudou at this point are more developed characters than Naoi. I could forgive that at first, since if Kuwabara initially assumed the series was only getting 3 volumes, it made sense to keep the focus on Kurumi. However, once volume 3 hit and it was made clear the manga was continuing, Naoi should've been given way more panel time than she's gotten.

Also, I wonder if Kuwabara is really going to let Kurumi and Kokoro's friendship last. Because it seems like up through chapter 10 was meant to be able to shift into the 3 volume plan, or the manga extended plan. But that means the 3 volume plan was meant to end with Kokoro and Kurumi not being friends anymore. And even now that the manga is on the extended plan, Kurumi and Naoi just joining Kokoro's new clique deviates away from the original premise of the series, of Kurumi and Naoi only truly having each other. Anon, death of the author is not a theory meant for you to pick random artworks the author did and outright ignoring what she is saying about the artwork itself, it's a comission, something she was paid to do, which is not to say the author who made a obvious yuri ending would not want for the characters to get married themselves.

I don't think they had approved any of the previous works, but regardless I'm sure if it was some official artwork they would have approved as they have done for several similar artworks before.

You didn't understand my point. I don't ascribe to death of the author, I'm merely pointing out that what someone considers evidence as yuri is subjective to some extent. My position is merely that:

>a work is yuri if an author accepts yuri commissions and the girls aren't otherwise romantically/physically involved with men (in the actual story and art)
And the logic is simple enough. If a yuri author started taking commissions of their charcters getting fucked by men, other fans would obviously decry this even if the author explicitly said it wasn't canon. Because what commissions an authors accepts obviously has some impact on their motivations for writing the story itself. The author could have chosen not to drawn that commission, if they wanted.
