The only way a romcom manga can still tell a story when the main relationship gets together early is if the relationship isn't perfect and still has room to grow.

If Renako breaks up with Ajisai OR Mai, it'll be near endgame and they decide they want to have a 1-on-1 relationship after all. I can see Kaho or Satsuki joining in, but Mai and Ajisai will certainly be part of the endgame arc when it comes.

You should be able to piece it together from then mosiac censoring & how Renako was acting. Do you need everything spelled out for you? Like or not, an anime can't be as detailed or dialogue heavy as a LN.

Satsuki might be my favorite character of the show. I like how she seems to be the most insightful and self-aware character, but still has a believable lack of self-awareness on her part. She has a very strong love-hate relationship with Mai and is developing feelings for Renako as they spend more time together. She's not great at it, but the bare minimum for respecting boundaries is so far in the ground right now that Satsuki looks like a perfect match compared to Mai. Satsuki is giving Renako plenty of space, isn't being pushy about things like dates, and she's genuinely taking the effort to learn about Renako and her interests like a proper partner should. She is very mean and standoffish, but I don't think she said a single wrong thing throughout this episode. Plus, she is very reasonably pissed about the way that Mai treated her. I have no idea how this situation is going to resolve itself, but I see no outcome that is anything less than an entertaining mess.

Episode 5's issue wasn't the stuff it skipped, but the fact that even the stuff it didn't skip (Satsuki's lines, a whole bunch of dialogue) was crammed so that it felt like it was at 1.5 speed even to native JP watchers.

Watanare has been high-paced throughout the whole adaptation but episodes 1-4 had more impactful non-dialogue set pieces (kiss scenes, etc.). Ep 6 should be VERY successful from that perspective, and 7+ still better than Ep 5.

With regards to skipped content, Teren publicly stated that he was personally involved with all omission decisions in his afterword for ep1 so there isn't likely to be signficant pushback from viewers.
