Japan was hit hard by covid, economically, culturally, and spiritually. Many local/small businesses closed down permanently and a lot of people got very depressed, including manga artists who work from home. That's simply a fact. If that tears your brain apart from your tiny suburban bubble you've never left and are squandering your life in, that's just too bad.
