I know Baki gets a lot of flak lately because of the godawful pacing, themes that either don't make sense or conflict with previous events, and because the series of events (can't really call it an overarching story) has been meandering for a decade. But Kengan Omega is borderline unreadable. If Baki is you frolicking in the woods with nothing to do, Kengan is like a treadmill that gets longer the farther away the goalpost moves, but it's the treadmill getting longer instead of you advancing to new grounds

I was told Kengan was like a more realistic take on Baki but the first fight in the series has the main guy use some kind of joint magic trick to dislocate a big guy's entire arm in one second. Not long after you have a whole clan of black eyed mutants with their own kinds of hormones, guys with prehensile and retractable hair that's stronger than steel, a Super Saiyan form that's just making your heart beat faster, a human whale doing somersaults, etc etc etc it was a lot dumber than Baki

Dragon Ball is the only straight manga.
