I wasn't expecting such a gay episode. Hinata was a cute.

Summary: The girls are hanging in Nodo's room admiring Hinata's latest cat video when Hinata notices a corner full of Nodo pics, noting a huge gape in her growth. Hinata has a sudden idea and is soon dragging the girls to the mall. The girls zoom about looking at all the fronts, and just as Nodo and Chiyu are about to get to shopping, Hinata stops them and takes them to a special picture event. The place is crowded, but Nodo is ready and they jump into the fray. The girls start with making Jewelry from Hugtto's bead assembler, Nodo with a big gaudy piece and Chiyu a humble bracelet. Next are the nails with Chiyu getting some blue adult nails, while Nodoka is lost on how to color them. Finally its time for the real battle: Dress selection. Chiyu stays back as Hinata and Nodo charge in. Predictably Nodo is soon overwhelmed. Outside Chiyu has Nodo resting as Hinata shows up with some water and excessive apologies. Nodo says its quite alright, but Latte takes off to meet another dog; Hinata chases so Nodo can rest. While collecting Latte, Shindoine attacks the mall sending Hinata to high duty. Sparkle takes on the giant ruby, finding it impossible to damage, and worse yet its fast, and destroying the Mall. As the fight becomes dire, Shindoine mocks Sparkle for thinking she could solo when it takes all three. But just in time Nodo and Chiyu appear quickly transforming to save her. The MoTW is put off for a moment so Grace can tell Sparkle how much she appreciates all she's doing for. After a moment of flustering, the Cures get to work finding how impervious the MoTW is, but Fontaine has her knew attack and freezes the MoTW long enough for Sparkle to cleanse it. With the Mall empties, the girls take advantage and quickly get their dresses and picture taken. Chiyu is full dork look, while Nodo figures out Hinata did the whole trip for her; sending Hinata into a full gay fluster.

I think my top 5 especially don't really correlate with general /pc/ opinion except maybe for ST and Hugtto. Kimi to Idol is obviously a pending score, and it can easily change as soon as the end of August, but I just really vibe with the season despite not being an idolfag (probably because Cure Kiss is one of my top 5 Cures). I'm weird for thinking that Fresh and Suite > HC and Smile or even rating HC and Smile relatively low. If I lumped together Maho and Maho 2, I would probably place Maho above Splash Star, but I'll keep them seperate in the same way the other sequel seasons are kept seperate from their original seasons.
Maybe I might feel like rewatching one of the seasons I labeled bad on a whim, but HaCha especially is a hard nope from me. It's not that it has no redeeming factors, but the experience overall was extremely sour for me.

Honestly, if I were just rating the Cure cast, whether it be overall likability of each of the Cures or their overall dynamics, HS wouldn't be near the bottom but neither would HaCha to be honest. Worst overall group dynamics would be the Kiras IMO (I don't really like how they mostly just have a coworker vibe unless the Cures involved are deliberately being a yuribait couple or unless they are interacting with Ichika). I think all other groups have at least passable group dynamics.
The group with the overall least good Cures would be Wonderful. Rin, Yuuko, Ciel, Chiyu, and Sango are all notably bad Cures, worse than any one Cure in Wonderful, but all of those groups have at least one really great Cure to compensate (Karen, Yukari, Nodoka, and Laura are top 15 or so to me whereas Iona and Hime are both top 30 at least). Mayu's pretty good, but Iroha's mostly really boring whereas both Komugi and Yuki are fun but not that much deeper than the character archetype of the animal that they embody (though Yuki's better in that regard as far as character depth goes). If Iroha were more of a side character like Yuuko, maybe it wouldn't be so bad, but she's definitely a major focus of the season, even moreso than the actual lead of the show.

I think she's a pretty fun lead that works well as the charismatic glue for her team. That's relatively basic pink stuff, but it's been a few years since we've actually had a lead that could do that well enough; I would say TR. I do think that she's a bit too accepting of Meroron's antics to an unreasonable level. Maybe accepting the friend of a friend even if they are seemingly incorrigible isn't exactly the best message, but on the other hand, sometimes all you do have to do to get someone to warm up to you is to overwhelm them with kindness, which does seem to be working slowly but surely on Meroron and is ultimately how most villains redemptions work anyways.
