I'm really torn on my enjoyment of Wano. It starts out pretty rough; fast forwarding the parts I'm interested in, dwelling on bits I couldn't give less of a shit about or stuff that just get revealed in a more organic way later on anyways, the storyboarding and panel flow isn't as smooth, and maybe it's a skill issue but it's the arc that has the most amount of characters I don't give a shit about, Oden withstanding ofcourse. But I still really love the aesthetic, character designs, and big reveals. I enjoy how unique it is for sure, but I don't get why normalfags praise it to hell and back all the time when compared to other arcs they shit on for doing the same thing like Spypeia or Alabasta.

Sure,Oda isn't looking at flower meanings since most of the flowers are pretty common. But the Red Spider Lily for Teach and the Sunflower for Luffy surely mean something.

it has a really bad habit of dwelling on the unnecessary bits, and not if time on the bits that are far more engaging but are hardly developed. It also doesn't help, for as much kino art as it does have, there an endless amount of literal who's that indistinguishable from one another and are all treated as equally important despite 99% of them not. Also, I agree that the pacing is good, but I have the pleasure of not having to read this "weekly" with all the breaks in the oden backstory arc in Wano, since I got into afterwards. But I'm sure this part in particular felt like an eternity to those who just wanted to see luffy and co. kick some ass.

This is the arcs downfall really, and it's only going to get worse. I understand on some level that a civil war of this scale should have dozens of sub-leaders (on all sides of the war), but when they all need characterization, something TO DO, then fights, it feels a waste.Like Koza being Alabasta's 'one guy' leading the rebellion was the other way wrong, we didn't see much from the populace and in Wano we see TOO MUCH.I think this is a fucking pain to juggle, sadly Oda fumbled it on the one arc he needed to nail it.
