Because the author has shown numerous times that they're a hack, it's the same thing with Kaguya. S1 is peak romcom, S2 has its moments, and then S3 just forgets the initial appeal.

Story jumps the shark with the introduction of the crow girl, but the downhill slide isn't apparent until the next arc that will start S3.

It wasn't dogcrap, but it was definitely much weaker. It just mostly went into panel by panel adaptation of the manga, while the first season had some great direction moments.

Because much less time was spent on finding the murderer. If season one was 50%ish fujo pandering, season 2 was 75%+.
