Basically all you need to know is that 1,000 years ago demons BTFO dragons so fucking hard that dragons went into hiding, and that creation exists along four parallel lines. Lina lives in the Red World (FLARE Dragon Ceipheed, RUBY-Eyed Shabranigdu). The bad guys come from the Black World (NIGHT Dragon Vorpheed, DARK Star Dugradigdu). The Black World is the Lost Universe world where demons and gods are technology and space ships that have tools and weapons that parallel the Five Demon Retainers of Shabranigdu, who are Hellmaster Phibrizzo (death by unbirthing), Greater Beast Zelas Metallium (Xellos' mom), Deep Sea Dolphin, Dynast Grausherra, and Chaos Dragon Garv (death by fisting). Garv's soul was forced to reincarnate in humans for centuries, which caused his evil to dissipate and turned him against demon-kind. He was attempting to build an army to kill every last demon before being fisted to death by Hellmaster.
