With Sumira being an anime original character, who had her main character arc in anime filler content, there's no way I see her winning the Borutbowl. From a manga reader's POV, without anime knowledge about her whole jinchuuriki deal, she's just some girl who turned up in the Naruto sequel who has some undefined crush on him and sweats a lot. Even Eida has a better chance at winning the bowl than Sarada.

Before he died, he literally said his purpose was fulfilled. But now he’s back, and it’s probably because Himawari is an actual beast. And the crazy thing is, Kurama isn’t even sealed inside her, he’s more like a guide, helping her unlock her potential and training her. So that makes me wonder… who brought him back? who is behind his resurrection? With so many chapters repeatedly doubling down on Sumire's crush on Boruto I just don't see KawaSumi having good odds anymore. I think there is still a slim chance though. I feel bad for Sumire, she keeps being made a fool. There's no way she can win the Burrito bowl outside of a harem end (which doesn't feel impossible to me at present). But if she doesn't win Boruto over and if she doesn't get a different love interest her story outcomes aren't very good. At best she'll end up being the newgen Karin or sidewife, at worst she get's Neji'd. Kawaki sucks but ending up with him is her best shot at a happy ending in the story and most crucially, dodging death.

Sumire in particular seems to invite a lot of twisting and turning whenever her prospects get discussed and maybe this really is just a much simpler, more straightforward manga than we want to admit. Bort's endgame, should he have one, is the obvious choice (Sarada). Kawaki's endgame, should he have one, is the girl who was explicitly introduced as a love interest (Eida). And Sumire was always meant to play the classic role of love rival and nothing more, the big twist being that she and Sarada aren't catfighting because them being friends is Ikemoto's paltry attempt at feminism for little girls.

Yodo wasn't a character he came up with, most of the cast is Kodachi creations. Eida and Daemon are Ikemoto's unique character contributions to the story. He's gone out of his way to bring up Eida on past press events, Ikemoto seems sweet on her. That's his darling Mary Sue OC. At this point I'd be very surprised if she died. Doesn't mean she won't get hurt or anything and doesn't mean she will get with Kawaki I just think she's getting a happy ending of some sort.

Things were probably more cohesive when Kodachi was both the manga's writer and supervising the anime.
