Lucifer is such a fascinating character to me.
He's a "good guy" who loves his friends and wants to protect them, yet he's so stubbornly fixated on an utterly futile war that he has zero chance of winning. He already saw the future and foresaw himself fighting this pointless war in vain, yet he chooses to go along with it because he can't bring himself to give up and genuinely thinks that he win if he just tries hard enough.
It's such a good take on pride. He's not "egotistical" exactly, but his actions are clouded by his own hubris. It's pitiable, really.

I also think it's interesting how Lucifer is very quick to condemn God, yet he's weirdly lenient when it comes to the people on "his" side. I know it's played for a gag, but the fact that Lucifer tries (and fails) to defend Beelzebub of all people is... telling.

10/10 character.

All he can do is invoke powers on loan from others when god lets him. He's special the way a guy driving down the street hitting all green lights because someone in civil engineering is flipping them all for him for a laugh is special. His "strength" is just something god cast him in the role to play with and it's been pretty much entirely a burden to be in that role.

I don’t know how many people here read the ex chapters, but I highly recommend checking them out. They do a lot to flesh out the setting and certain side characters
Marco especially feels significantly more likable when you read some of his journal entries

Succubi are bad as seeing in the start of the series, but these ones were Imuri's friends so I guess they get a pass.
Mammon's followers are evil but also bros to each other and Mammon.
Leviathan's monsters are not evil but animalistics and just huge as fuck.
Lucifer's friends seem to be genuinely nice people even if wrapped by Lucifer's vision of forcing everyone to evolve like them.

The point is not that he won't fight the demons or save the world, but that he won't be using his power like Lucifer to force the entire world to comlpy with his vision of what reality should be.
He has a potential comparable to Lucifer, and thus Lucifer thinks that if Mr Priest doesn't want to help him he must have his own vision of the world that he wants to bring about. But Priest-kun just wants a normal life, he doesn't have the same grand dreams. And thus Lucifer also chooses his friends over his grand dream.

Leah and Barbara are Priest's closest friends, I'm sure they're not taking it well. We don't know much about Barbara's character, but Leah was definitely in love with Priest this whole time. There are too many panels of her longingly staring at Priest as he does shit with Imuri, and she literally said

I did a quick search and found out about the Holy Lance or the Lance of Longinus: the weapon used to stab Jesus while he was on the cross.
The Holy Lance is just a spear, there's nothing special about it and it didn't become special because Jesus was stabbed by it. I think God choosing to use a spear to strike down Lucifer has a more symbolic meaning. Lucifer considers himself this world's savior, so God's administering one of the same trials that the world's actual savior (Jesus Christ) faced to remind Lucifer that he isn't saving anybody with his plan.
But of course, Lucifer's just too prideful to admit it.

I really like these notes, I think the manga has a secondary motif on how frustration with and unjust system is valid but wrongly directed can lead to dangerous movements which only make everything worse.

For the demon lords, it makes sense for them to be unquestionably evil because they chose to commit the greatest sin (blasphemy against the Holy Spirit) and turned away from God to pursue their respective sins, spending millennia to become the monsters they are now.
We don't know what normal demons are in this world. If they're not also fallen angels and are instead created in Hell, then it would make sense for them to be more normal because they didn't make that initial choice to turn away from God in the first place.

The demon lords are not quite unquestionably evil, so far. Many of them remain kind of well-meaning, but deeply flawed people who are probably bad news to be associated with. Belphegor doesn't seem to want to hurt almost anyone, but he's a seething defeatist who wants to drag everyone else into self-destruction. Mammon seems to be hard-working and loyal, he's just a total bastard to the outgroup and actively wants them to be the same way to him in return as that's his value system. Lucifer is genuinely altruistic but is almost incapable of being reasonable because he sees that as defeating himself.
Leviathan may be a special case, as well, as at least in judeo-christianic lore the leviathan isn't even a fallen angel, it's just the most powerful of the creatures of the flesh. She may just have thrown in with the rest and become an honorary demon lord because there's nobody else that can survive a tantrum from her.

Yes and no. The book of revelations is deliberately vague on the details, but there's supposed to be a whole lot of crazy shit going on before the second coming, including a false prophet (the antichrist) who leads most of the world astray.
I think it's increasingly likely that Priest is actually the antichrist rather than the true christ come again.

Every showdown with the lords of sin has ended with the little guy rejecting the sin they represent (and usually beating their ass).
Particularly since he has a lot of anger, Satan's arc is going to be about rejecting wrath. Plus the goal set in the first chapter is to find something to love in the world.
