"Golden Eight Seconds" was a shit power-up for Okubo that doesn't mesh with his schtick. Sandro seemingly forgot that Okubo was a wrestler and wasted that aspect of him, in a match with Seki no less.
The fight only served to repeat to Koga a realisation he made right before it even happened. The fight itself delayed the Inside Arc. The only thing elevating it is that it happened during a particularly sour spot in Omega, and that Okubo vs Terashi happened before it.
More importantly, it was the start of Sandro doing random match-ups that break up the flow of the story he wants the reader to be invested in, like Wakatsuki vs Omori or Ohma vs Kiozan.
