There were so many options

Reminder that it’s completely absurd that Aura wouldn’t have RUN for dear life the moment she noticed Frieren in the area. They are not strangers and Aura lived through the defeat of the Demon King, the destruction of the demon army of which she was a major commander all at the hands of Frieren and her party. There is no reality in which Aura doesn’t run like mad when that Frieren shows up gunning for her. EVEN IF she was willing to let Frieren approach her for whatever reason and even if she was willing to believe her lying eyes re Frieren’s mana suppression, she still should have been cautious to the EXTREME and got spooked by Frieren’s supreme confidence. She KNOWS that Frieren knows exactly how her magic works, there’s literally no way she could have thought fighting with her there would be a wise move EVEN IF she didn’t think she’d lose in a mana contest.

I'm betting she will encounter the Dwarf. They have history together, and she can use the time she spent with Eisen as an inspiration for how to deal with him, and then the time spent with Himmel to probably talk him down out of it.

To me the interesting part will be if she kills anyone: she mentioned it like a real possibility, and people forget the anime could get brutal when it wanted like choking Draht and blowing his head off, or Himmel chopping off that demon kid's hand. Some SW should get the same.

The whole point is that Serie needs to stay in the ballroom for a meeting with the emperor and for it to occur without incident. Lowe jumping from the rafters like a ninja to attack her means the magic police, all of Series bodyguards and Frieren will have failed
The most likely scenario is that he gets stopped from attempting this, Frieren being the most likely one to do this because of MC energy and it making narrative sense since his purpose for assassinating her is because he wants to erase the free use of magic from this world, ie erase Frieren's masters legacy

It doesn't really matter how strong he is, it doesn't make much sense to write Frieren fighting the hobo dwarf nor the kid who stole her pocket money. They are just goons for the great mage killer who wants to erase what Frieren's master gave to the world.
Explicitly, her motivation for even being involved in this is because she can see that the person behind this plot poses a serious a risk to Flamme's legacy. It's not because she hits wants to stop bad guys doing bad things.

It was roughly around this point of the anime where I realized while listening to the overly bombastic soundtrack that was intentionally trying to drown out everything around it to create a sense of insincere grandness that this anime and perhaps most others like it were not developed for quality or proper narrative engagement. No, as the the scene and episode closed out all I could think to myself was not the scale and impact of the story but rather that somewhere someone was already editing together a youtube video of them "REACTING" to the scene in question like a highly strung zoo animal. And that's all this and the current trend of anime is. Reaction bait. And I detest it.

Rasen is the only one Frieren knows personally, we have a mystery here about a former comrade turning against what she loves. There's a story to be had here. Not saying she will necessarily fight him, but I wouldn't write it out. He's not just any fodder.

I'd like this arc a lot more if it had a hidden goal. For example, WHAT IF Serie is there taking the bait on purpose because there's a hidden target she really wants to bait out? Who could be that special? Check this out -- what if it's KRAFT? What if she foudn out that Kraft was contacted by the SWs, and Kraft is aligned with the SW's goal to get rid of magic from human civilization? What if the Great Magic World (to use a Fairy Tail term) was a goal of Serie and Flamme and her other disciples, something that Kraft an ancient protector of the Goddess faith and wants to bring the world back into its proper shape. Remember that in ancient times magic was strictly demonic. What if demons resemble humans so much now NOT because demons are getting closer to humans but rather humans are getting closer to demons, and the demons' image change is a symptom of that? Because look who's going to threaten Serie? I've suspected for a while that Serie is being set up as the next Demon King, because otherwise what is her narrative purpose at all?

Kraft is a good boy who's friendly to mages, and Serie's narrative purpose is a foil to Frieren. Sousou no Frieren is an earnest and optimistic series about growth and change, it won't make the kind of twists you'd like, it's just not the series DNA.

That makes some sense, however they seemed to have planned this in detail and they know Frieren is there. Since his target is Serie, either he has some planned to counter her, or he expects he would cut through Frieren to get to Serie which would be a double win. The problem with latter is that he got heavily damage in his last encounter with a great mage so it would be foolish to expect to take on twice in a row.

Honestly don't know, i can see arguments either way. But for sure Frieren's speciality is dispelling things. Regardless of how much power, knowledge and combat ability Serie has she just doesn't compare to Frieren in that regard. Frieren dispelled her barrier when her apprentices thought it impossible, did what Serie couldn't with the golden lands, dispelled the abilities of Aura and Bose.
So you'd think she would be pretty good at creating barriers too, based on reverse engineering from her dispelling expertise.
