Aira is at least funny with her obsesion with her being the main character and banter with the other characters. Jiji is a good guy, but that also makes him bland because he just sort of hangs around and occasionally does an over the top pose or voice line to 'goof off' which feels forced and doesn't amuse me.
Aira's intro arc was also directly tied into the existing story (Okarun's balls) and only took like 3 episodes. Jiji is a distraction story thats not tied to anything else, and is taking roughly an entire season by itself.

Also, the ghost backstory is weaker. "Evil eye was an abused kid that just wanted to play with others" is sad for about five minutes, but it doesn't have enough emotional oomph to carry the amount of references back to it they are doing. As opposed to Acro-Silky's tragic backstory, which is fucking heartbreaking AND YET they have had the taste not to mine that for more feels after the fact, despite the fact that I'm pretty sure the audience would have been 100% down for a "the gang goes to rescue Acro-Silky's kid from the Yakuza" arc.

It's not really Momo's size that's the problem. Some people just aren't feeling the current arcs because Okarun doesn't have his powers anymore. The story has become a relentless series of battles, serious shonen stuff with no time to breathe, more bonding or cozy chapter, and the villains have been pretty underwhelming.
Momo has been cursed for a long time and continues to remain in that state even now in the manga. But the thing is, Momo returning to her normal size won't resolve the underlying issues that some people have with the story.

1 of DDD's strenghts is how organized the arcs are and the anime still goes out of their way to finish the episodes and seasons in weird places
