I have a much better idea of what it is, but I want to wait until next week until the show actually elaborates on it. At the very least, it's something that Meroron could only get after actively trying to befriend the other Cures before the lock saw it fit to extract its price.
One thing of note is that I thought that maybe the lock couldn't screw over Meroron because she needed to be around for Purirun's wish to be executed. However, Purirun probably could transform all on her own and needing to be together to transform was just a Meroron mental block, so I think the lock could have screwed over Meroron earlier on while still granting Purirun's wish to protect Cure Idol if it felt like it.

This arc might be the last chance for Idol to turn around. So far it's just been a pretty mid season with only a handful of highlights. Even if this turns out to be an amazing twist, I fear that it will be too little too late with less than 20 episodes left by the time the arc is wrapped up unless they switch gears and speed things up, leaving only a handful of slice of life episodes in the latter half

One thing that kind of bothered me with Kira Kira was that no one could really handle Yukari. Akira was doing her best, sure, but she was definitely struggling hard, and by the end of the season, it felt like the best the other Cures could do was slap on bandaids on Yukari's personal issues. Nana managed to deal with someone arguably worse than Yukari in a pretty believable way; she'll be extremely memorable for that alone.

Yeah, that's accurate. A lot of people did feel Nana got the short end of the stick before her summer episodes. I personally thought the Zakkuri redemption would be the extent of her impact on the overall plot, but I'm glad that I was wrong.
