If only the materials in the dungeon can harm the dungeon creatures (due to some extra-dimensional phenomena, whatever), why the fuck are you making medieval weapons? Make guns. Make better, standardized, equipment. Make as good a "random rank and file" adventurer as possible. Why the fuck are you degrading yourself to the standards of the extra-dimensional invaders? Why the fuck are you betting the economy, and the world's security, on a handful of exceptional people? They should be working tirelessly to find out how to artificially give people higher ranks.

The slop isn't the system, the dungeons, the day-to-day-grind, the slop is how incurious all the institutions are.

Anime has always been like that and it’s a staple in western fiction to some extent too. Making the MC and his allies practitioners of something and being the only ones able to stand against the bad guys. Thats how most paranormal or fantasy action works out, you have some guy who teaches the cast how to kill vampires or hunt ghosts or whatever and then they learn about the secret world of magicians who battles demons or something and have to level up because character backstories and a villain.

Haven't watched solo leveling, but it's pretty much assumed that if that were possible, every isekai world would have done it already. The point that drives the plot is that normal people are completely incapable of reaching the heights that heroes do. Even picrel with a pool of infinite isekai hero MCs kowtows to the fact that this one autist is exceptional but only because he is the most overly cautious man to ever grace this earth. If the normals could reach his level of preparedness, there wouldn't be demon lords to defeat.

it has no themes, no characterization, hardly even has a plot.
