Not only was the show beautifully animated for most of its run, there was little to no stock animation either, unfortunately it's extremely niche for some reason which is a shame since potato dorothy is ridiculously moe.

It's a great series for kids, it covers the first three Oz books but as the series progresses it takes more and more liberties and changes quite a bit of stuff by the time they get to cover the third book.
One thing that is really odd is that this is the only Oz adaptation that I know of where Dorothy's shoes aren't red for some reason.
The whole series is available on YT with subs if you're too lazy to torrent it, the quality isn't the best but it's watchable, it also has a really good OP song even for its years where a lot of anime had real bangers like Giant Gorg, VOTOMS or Galient's OPs.

The old Mahoujin Guru Guru anime has a problem that a ton of old adaptions of shonen and shoujo manga had in the 1990s especially.

They're bloated with tons of filler episodes. This isn't necessarily a bad thing if the filler's good or memorable, but it leads to situations where hilariously enough modern adaptions of 90s manga is pretty faithful to the manga's pace, but people will complain that it's adapting at a breakneck pace for not remaking all of the filler either.

The old Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken episode extended an mere two page training arc into a full episode.
