It's not a remake, most of the story is completely different. The original was made during the manga's serialization, ran out of manga to adapt, and had to write an original second half which is vastly different from the manga. It's worth a watch.

Freiren will drop below FMA:B before the end of the year, and may stay above Stein's Gate for most of 2026. It's the kind of slop Americans want, so the inevitable falloff will be extremely slow compared to others.

Enjoyable shounen with safe, solid execution. It's not amazing or anything, but there's nothing wrong with it either. It's an ideal gateway anime for newfags. My only gripe with it is that it expects you to have seen 03 first, so it rushes through the beginning.

Haven't watched it and probably never will. Nothing about it interests me and Okabe seems irritating as fuck. I dislike how the studio interpreted Huke's art style too; BRS handled it much better imo.

MT has the most human story I've seen in an anime, ever. The characters are immensely relatable, their foibles are grounded and resonate with anyone who has a shred of honesty. Despite the wacky setting and stuff that goes on, it all feels lived-in and believable, like it has dimensional volume. The first season has excellent production values, I wish I could say the same of the second, but at least the hydra fight and some of the domestic scenes looks good.
overall it's an easy 9/10 when most anime is like a 6/10.
