If not, that's a super easy yes. I can just spend my time working out and mastering a ton of dishes that I have memorized but have never really quite gotten the hang of.

I spent 2 years in a depressed catatonic state where I pissed and shit myself in bed with family taking care of my worthless ass. Even now that I'm "awake" most of my time is spent staring at a wall. The real loss is probably the loss of manga and books since he seems to care about them. I'm sure he could handle the lack of people; if you can last two years without much meaningful interaction, one year without people present at all isn't that much of a jump. Spending one year in that room would be hard for anyone though due to the lack of any stimulation. It's a minority, but some people can spend a year without human contact and be fine; almost nobody can go a year without anything to engage with at all.

I assume that for the purposes of actually being able to live for that full year you have access to food, water, a bathroom, medicine, UV lights, etc.

Even then you'd likely have a severe psychotic break long before the year is up. If there were a window to the outside or clock and calendar you could use to track time it might be less severe, but we have ample scientific evidence that prolonged solitary confinement is hugely damaging to one's mental state. You'd get your $30 billion but come out the other end barely functioning.
