If they are setting up the Anime timeline to be the "Third" universe 7, per Daima, that means they can make the manga the First U7, GT the Second U7, the movies the Fourth U7, and so on
Now they have a timeline multiverse that's much easier to understand, are able to write arcs that cross the timelines over with each other using the Demon Realm, "canonize" GT, etc etc. It writes itself.

How exactly? I think it gives the series a nice closure, wrapping OG/Z/GT with a nice bow on top. It's also a nice excuse to revisit every wish, giving you that "end-game" feeling.

Basically it "feels right" narratively speaking because it brings closure based on something that was there from the start but Dragon Balls were never meant to be something double edged, the heroes never actually overused them (check out every single use). They were symbols of hope and their creators themselves said they were worthy of using them.

Pan, who was well suited into adapting to the life of a crew memeber. had every business being incorporated into the space adventure. We have to remember that this was Pan's first time in space, so, despite her readiness for adventure, the shock of new experiences would be fresh to her.
Pan's uncle (Goten), who could not muster the courage to embark on the space adventure, despite bringing his luggage, was not mentally or physically suited for a long and arduous mission in space. Only Pan, who would never use the situation to pass the time, was more than qualified enough to adapt to the harsh environment of space.
Pan's efforts were made clear by the time two weeks had past since the launch. It was blatantly obvious that she wanted to form a united effort to ensure the ship was organised and made comfortable to live in; Pan tried to build a better world onboard the ship.
If Goku and Trunks would have never made any attempt to treat Pan as 'pseudo leader'. Why? Because it would ruin the foundation of trust between them and, therefore, compromise the entire mission. We saw Pan's leadership qualities during the space adventure, the Baby arc and the Shadow Dragons arc; ultimately proving that she spends time in isolation. Otherwise she would not be able to be a leader.

Why couldn't Goten earn that title? Should he not go through some kind of obstacle course, in order to qualify for the title of Goku's rank? It just doesn't seem fair that Goten gets the title for doing absolutely nothing, whereas his niece (Pan) did more to earn that title..
Mr. Satan's dojo was not just a place for Pan to share her grievances, it was a place to continue practicing her ki control and showing the participants the martial arts. Pan would not have gained the knowledge of the Turtle hermit's school, without Goku, Gohan and possibly her great grandfather (Gyumao). That means Pan received a comprehensive education on the martial arts, which is what we see in GT.
Pan's family life isn't the easiest, especially when you have a disgruntled uncle (Goten the quitter), who finds any excuse to berate his own niece (Pan); it's no wonder she spends most of her time training outside..
Goten, despite being a SS, could not match the strength of his only niece (Pan). Why? Because she has the fighting spirit and courage of a saiyan. Besides, we've already seen Pan transformation into her own version of SS..

Goku, as Pan's grandpa, is entirely obligated to ensure that his granddaughter (Pan) survives. Why? Because she is the future of the Son family. That scene where Pan was almost taken by Baby, was an example of Goku acting on his grandfatherly instincts, who eventually managed to escape, thanks to Trunks and Goku..

That oldman was all bluff and filled with lies, unlike Pan who meant every single word; she was prepared to sacrifice herself for the Earth: an act of selflessness.

Pan's kick wasn't that hard, which is the whole point of continuing her training at the dojo, but it exposes just how weak Bulma designed the ship. That means the ship was built in haste, which means Bulma failed to ensure proper regulation and pay Pan's parents their remuneration. How can we really pin all the blame onto Pan? It just doesn't seem right, when you consider that Bulma should have considered all possibilties.

Raditz is just an example of how little it takes to change the narrative of the series. That means what had taken place in Daima, even if it seems insignificant, gave everyone to wonder why it didn't correlate with the previous narrative.
Dragon Ball GT is shown to be the definitive ending of the original Dragon Ball. As far as I am aware, that is the uncontested ending of the series.

They were trying to move in the opposite direction of the star's gravitational pull, which is something that Pan managed to do, but if Trunks had of moved backwards, then he would be pulling the ship into the star's grasp. If Giru had not miscalculated the star's gravity, then they would not be in that situation; iis it known how long Giru can extend his appendage?
Another example of Giru's problematic miscalculation, was the interruption of Pan's fight with the abandoned ships drone. Had she been given the adequate amount of time, the drone would have been defeated and, with time to spare, the boy rescued.
Bulma was not actively involved in the fight against Cell. This would have given her plenty time to conduct more research into the androids and how they mask their ki. Remember, that remote was built in haste; it's possible that more was learnt since the Cell arc.

Dende treated Pan with utter contempt. I think her ability to remain calm and collected, was remarkable and humble.

General Rilldo was obviously a special kind of Machine Mutant. I supposed it never made sense to Dr. Myuu to make them all the same?

Dragon ball peaked when kind Goku beat the demon king Piccolo.

It´s probably alright to think Goku going SSJ for the first time was the peak for a kid but honestly the whole alien stuff ended up being detrimental for the story. Kid Goku is innocent, mischievous and righteous while Saiyan Goku is kind of a retard obsessed with getting stronger. Not to mention the introduction of power levels and whatnot did more harm than good in the long run as it became just an easy low effort tool to solve everything except for resurrecting people.

And to address the elephant in the room, the dragon balls become less and less relevant as time progresses. The Freeza arc in Z is the last one where they were truly relevant but the focus was already on the power level fighting rather than the adventure of searching the balls.

But back to Piccolo, he is the villain with the most background since he is tied to both Muten Roshi and Kami. I guess you could say Cell probably rates second because of it´s connection to the red ribbon army though.

If I woke up one day suddenly hating the Dragon Ball cast, I would write something like RoF. I can't tell at all what mindset Toriyama was in when he made this.
The anime version is even worse. Piccolo is straight up killed, worst DB death ever. Gohan's humiliation ritual is even worse. Gotenks is dragged into the arc to suffer too. It's a very cursed DB arc.
