Agree, but it's also a different media: in the manga you are suppoed to switch the page to see the next scene, so the abrupt change from "heh, I'll find someone else" to "fuck no, I don't want that!" works. With the anime you're not in control of how the transition flows, so they decided to build anticipation over it. Basically, the manga works on the shock of reading two different statements and feeling side by side, while the anime slowly builds the answer the watchers already know.
They're both good in their own way, imho, but the anime feels more satisfying.
