I once thought that they might've been brought back by Pochita turning Denji into a hybrid, but some of the hybrids seem to have been hybrids longer than Denji, so it can't be that. We know that reinventing a concept does make the devil come back thanks to nukes. Maybe Death was involved, she might've thought that if she became part of a hybrid she might find happiness.

Just got back from seeing the movie. It was fantastic, way better than I expected. The animation was really fuckin good, and had a lot of variation in style. Reze's bomb form genuinely felt scary, even more so than the manga. The music and sound design really stood out too.
Also, I got a special book with interviews, concept art, manga rough drafts, and other stuff for going on debut night. It's quite long, 80 pages.
