The problem with Chisa and the whole “main girl,” so she HAS to be written with all the generic romcom tropes, which makes her feel completely artificial. The result? She doesn’t mesh with the rest of the cast at all, because every single thing about her is written just to make her “compatible” with Iori.
> “Ooooh look, they’re cooking together, please look at them, they’re so compatible!!” It’s embarrassing.
Meanwhile, this is supposed to be a gag manga, and she contributes literally nothing to the actual comedy. . She’s easily the most boring part of the manga, especially in the current stretch where the romance bullshit takes center stage.
The other girls don’t suffer from the burden of being the ‘main girl,’ so they can be written in a much more honest way, without necessarily having to please anyone
