Official Ranma translations in general don't tend to use honorifics much even though it's a very obviously Japanese series (I get the logic of removing/translating them in subs if a series is set somewhere that's clearly not Japan). This goes for both the manga translation, the current dub generally, and apparently the subtitles too.

The dub of the old series did actually come up with equivalents to many of the commonly used honorifics in the series, but they weren't completely consistent with using them every time they were used in the original Japanese.

My point is basically it's been 30+ years since Ranma made it to the west; at this point they might as well start including the honorifics etc. already.

I don't think this pacing works at all. It's trying to trace a slap-stick manga while forgetitng the inherent differences in the mediums that makes comedy (and mode of storytelling overall) work for one but not the other. Except sometimes they seem to realize they need to be doing something different and that's why you get this odd mix of the anime being abruptly fast-paced one moment and suddenly really slow during some emotional and dramatic sequence. I noticed this in the first season of the remake too but I think it's gotten worse.

I honestly feel like this will be the future that some series will use to have more nudity without having to deal with the ecchi label that nipples bring now. I've heard this a lot, but I can't say I agree. I think the slower, serious tone of the original contrasts well with the silliness of the comedy to create a sort of tongue-in-cheek undertone. It feels more understated and clever and I prefer infinitely to the straightforward approach they're taking in the remake.
I'm not saying a conventional fast-paced adaptation couldn't work, but I don't think it's done well in the remake. They're lacking in direction and just don't seem to be very creative with the material.

The old Ranma 1/2 anime's first few seasons aired prior to these censorship regulations, while the later seasons were effected by them. Happosai just existing as a character already renders the entire franchise non-normalfag friendly. Even besides him though Ranma was always one of the most normalfag-repellant series around:

- Happosai as I’ve already noted
- It’s very premise of gender-bending shenanigans used to be considered very niche and pervy before the troons forced themselves into the mainstream by infiltrating DEI and the Democratic Party

I can agree the original anime had a better soundtrack. But that doesn't mean the remake's soundtrack was bad. As for the scenes "didn't feel rushed", the original anime intentionally padded episodes with new scenes that were not in the manga and prolonged others. You've also became accustomed to that pacing.
