Even if it were two-cour, there is simply nothing to keep me invested. The carpenter murder? The only thing making it interesting is that MC and the audience are the only ones that know that the decapitation happened later. The older brother? Why should I care? The yokai? Maybe if the subs cared to give context to each one. I'm not a walking yokai encyclopedia... Guess I'll keep checking the threads for more developments, but otherwise it sadly seems like a waste of my time.

Yeah, I'm calling quits. The synopsis made it sound far more exciting than what it actually is:

And I'm all in favor of a series taking its time introducing its premise, but this show isn't slowly building its premise so much as it is wasting its viewers' time. Three episodes, more than an hour of runtime, and nothing to show for it. Baffling.

This is super dull and not much is happening. Very bland color palette, and the fact that most of the character have the same exact shaved topknot hairstyle also is not helping matters. I'll give it one more but mysteries should not take this long to get going.

If you enjoy anime set in medieval japan, it's very nice. Super immersive, involves all aspects of their folklore, very comfy and interesting. I'm highly pleased with it. Shit has me rooting for our frail MC
