They aired the show on Fox Kids LatAm during 2002 to 2004, they originally dubbed the opening theme, but the people at Fox Kids told the dubbing studio that their version of the opening was "crap", so they just aired the opening in Japanese

Didn't like the movies, too pretentious for their own good, the original series had a few hints of pretentiousness sparkled in, but its also had lots of comedy and didn't took itself too seriously not to have a couple of real monsters from time to time
also the "in 10 years who knows" thing aged poorly, it's been more than 10 years and we don't have giant police robots

The new files: Two in Karuizawa has got to be one of the most comfy episodes of anything.
Patlabor is such a cozy show. I got through everything on the blu-rays and felt horror when I realized there was nothing else after 33 hours of content.

I gave the series a try but didn't end up liking it. I thought the movie was fine and a couple of episodes were stand out like the bomb threat episode. Might watch some more if the future episodes are good

i've been enjoying this show I only just saw the OVAs this year. I don't want to devolve things into old good new bad but I have noticed that a lot of older anime are good at looking aesthetically pleasing without having to be overwhelming. The visuals aren't mind blowing but it's got a good artstyle and colors which puts it a notch above most stuff.

You can thank Oshii for that. He wrote the drunk episode, the Kanuka SHADDUP episode, the mossad spy dog episode, both sewer crocodile episodes, the restaurant delivery episode, the bathhouse episode and the mechanic civil war episode. He also wrote the one where Ota gets amnesia which I think is the only episode he did that wasn't a comedy.

Another writer who wrote a bunch of lighthearted and comedic episodes for TV/OVA 2 is Michiko Yokote, she also wrote some of the best episodes of Cowboy Bebop.

The movies are tops, some of my favorite flicks and thensort of thing I can always watch.
I really like the first one especially, my favorite scenes are the detective checking out all the programmer's homes. No dialogue for the most part but still ominous and still hints at what the mystery is.
